It's been cold.....pellet usage is way up

I will be burning Chow for this upcoming cold snap......they should do just fine

 

Chow is good stuff.

I'm afraid to count 'em, but the stash is getting low.

 

I switched to the Somersets for the next few days. For the year I'm at about 1.25 tons. Not too bad all things considered, but I've been burning cordwood to keep my pellet usage down.

Pellet furnace is on 2 and the wood eating insert is cranking along. 70 inside and 14 outside.

 

The dog didn't stay out to long and just dumped #75.

 

warmed up to zero today yesterday morning was -16

 

I unlike zero being described as a warm up

 

I've had girlfriends colder than that...

 

The dog took a 75# dump???

How much do you feed it???

 

Have to burn a lot to stay warm. My stoves starts loosing when the outside temp is in the teens.

 

Lol, he poops twice his weight. Sounds right, cause all he does is eats and sleeps.

 

I just picked up 30 bags of Presto Logs at my local HD for $4.18, I remember last year I got a few bags and they burned very well. I may go back and get another 20 tomorrow. Im waiting for the stove to finish the last of the Chows that's in there now so i can run these. Today is a perfect day to test those since its really cold out.

 

I finally counted, 45 for the month. Fricken cold out. -12 when I got up this AM. FSU's doing just fine.

 

We're finally above zero! yay!

 

Was minus 8 F @ 8 AM. Sun is shining. Will need to go out for a while.

 

Yeah, when its this cold, the furnace needs to help out a little after sundown. I have already burned a full bag since 7:20 this morning...but its warm enough to not use oil right now.

 

Now we know what Krooser is doing in retirement...... must not be much else on tv out in cheeseland.
