It's been cold.....pellet usage is way up

    I will be burning Chow for this upcoming cold snap......they should do just fine

    I switched to the Somersets for the next few days. For the year I'm at about 1.25 tons. Not too bad all things considered, but I've been burning cordwood to keep my pellet usage down.

    Pellet furnace is on 2 and the wood eating insert is cranking along. 70 inside and 14 outside. :)

    Literally doing the same exact thing. Wood eater cranking and Fahrenheit is on 2 :) Great minds think alike ;)

    Have to burn a lot to stay warm. My stoves starts loosing when the outside temp is in the teens.

    I just picked up 30 bags of Presto Logs at my local HD for $4.18, I remember last year I got a few bags and they burned very well. I may go back and get another 20 tomorrow. Im waiting for the stove to finish the last of the Chows that's in there now so i can run these. Today is a perfect day to test those since its really cold out.

    I finally counted, 45 for the month. Fricken cold out. -12 when I got up this AM. FSU's doing just fine.

    Yeah, when its this cold, the furnace needs to help out a little after sundown. I have already burned a full bag since 7:20 this morning...but its warm enough to not use oil right now.
