OK. Thanks, just curious is all.

Yeah, I'm torn. My hopper is done with foil tape, but I can see a few tears and I really don't want to have to pull the whole unit apart AGAIN if I still have a leak.

Best I can tell is mine was made in 2008.

I thought all the auto ignition models had the LCD control panel. I might be wrong.

Cool. I think mine was built around there as well, its' SN isn't much newer than yours. Though I'm not sure how many units they sell a year.

Thanks. Starting to get where I want to be. Hopefully after the weekend I'll have the stove running the way it should.

Guess what? Here's the pic on the relay board sticky taped inside just under the control board.

The glass on yours clouds up on top just like mine. They updated the air wash a bit on the newer models.

Edit - I should add that after about 11 hours of runtime I'm at the usual 'clear rectangle' on the bottom of the glass. About 2" up from the bottom of the glass and exact width of the air wash opening.

You seen that too. I hope over the the long haul it stays clean longer if not, I'll plug two more holes to make it 60% to the glass air wash. Easily done as the top part removes easily. I did have a hell of a time to install those pins for the Auto clean arms and learned a lesson too. Noticed the arms have a recessed bigger hole from the bottom so the pin has to go from bottom up and it was so easy to install them. I was trying to go from up down and was swearing at the engineering guru, figured the pin won't fall out if cotter pin lets go:doh: I do recall it been mentioned to do it bottoms up and now I really see why:headbang:

Mine was missing the cotter pins when I got it. The pins drop right in on mine and I never bothered replacing the cotter pins. Makes it easier to get things in and out. Haven't had a problem in nearly three years of using it. I figure Gravity is my friend.

When I ordered the replacement upper burn plate last year, Mark Graham at Fahrenheit told me to be careful when removing the pot assembly. I told him that I was familiar with the procedure and had beer and band aids ready. We exchanged stories of the bloodshed and cussing that is involved. It's not bad after you've done it a time or two, but I still have yet to do it without bleeding.

I tried plugging holes to make the air wash better but didn't notice any real difference. I figure as long as it burns clean the I don't really mind the glass being fogged up.

No blood on my part only appeared one or twice or more in the face:mad:It ran all night on #2 and haven't went down to check yet. The warmth in the house is different after looking outside this morning:startled:

Furnace is on level #3 and been noticing the distribution fan going on/off and not warming the house like it use to. I just throttle back the air inlet damper, I figure I might have too much air and going out the vent too quick so no retention on the heated air. I sure hope that's the problem.

From what I recall, the distribution blower on mine always stayed on when running on level 3. I don't remember if it stayed on on level 2 or not. I started running mine on the t-stat last year and it's been on the t-stat the past couple days also.

The only time I remember mine cycling on level 3 was when I was trying to gag the poor thing with the half ton of Michigan wood pellets I had left over in the barn.

Here is one thing to check. Each fall when I power the furnace back up, it defaults to "low feed/fast dump/high ash fuel". I have to change that back to "medium feed/normal dump/premium pellet fuel". I'm guessing it reverts to defaults after being powered down for 6 months.

343amc has it on the nail.
I said to myself to double check with the feed settings and sure enough it was that.

It took me a while to figure that out on mine. I knew something was up when it was running the self clean every three hours or so. Now it's on my 'fall startup checklist'. Right next to 'remove block off plate from cold air return'.

I hope I'm not hyjacking this tread but I see fit posting my scenerios along with other Fahrenheit owners. It's a learning tread for all of us:handshake: and in one tread only.

I fired mine up Saturday. Supposed to be warming up later this week, so it'll probably get shut down later tomorrow. I'll go back to firewood at night and oil during the day until it gets cold again.

I just cleaned mine today. This was the first year I never did a spring cleaning.. :( I waited until I needed it..

It was in the 20's last night and tonight. I didn't fire it. But I cleaned everything. The 2 most important areas for Newb's to the Fahrenheit are above the heat exchange area and behind the back wall.
    20151123_182113.jpg

A good wire brush (with a long handle), an air compressor with a long air gun nozzle, and a long bristled brush does this area like a champ!

The small brush that comes with the lint eater works good for behind the back wall.

This pic was taken from the ash pan area with the brush already stuck up that gap in the back wall.
    20151123_183321.jpg
Here is the brush sticking out the top of the back wall gap. If this area is clogged? Your furnace will not have the correct exhaust path and efficiency will be affected 20151123_183336.jpg

The furnace is ready for another season of heating. The only part I really want to replace is the brass bushing on the bottom of the auger. It's spinning with the auger and making quite a bit of noise.

I don't remember ever seeing a clean out access like you have above the heat exchanger tubes. That's either another difference between the old and new units or I'm just blind.

When I shut mine off, I'm going to pop off that air deflector in front of the best exchanger tubes and see if mine has one of those removable covers. If so, that would make life a lot easier. Sure would beat trying to contort my arm and a cleaning brush on top of the tubes from inside the firebox.
