What I find crazy are the prices. I think the big boxes all had their pins lined up for the price increase. Then the gas went down. Thinking that wouldn't hold, they didn't knee jerk react. Now look what has happened. Burning pellets cost a lot more than running the no work furnace. Lets see how long they can hold their breath.

Thats funny, All the Lowes around me went from 4600 to 0 in no time. Yet the 2 I checked had tall stacks with no sold or names on them. :loco:

It would appear that the safest way to view current stock, is to drive to the store...
I have noticed those discrepancies as well... Hard to figure.

HD in my area finally dropped price from 269 to 259.
crappy Nations Choice but think they got the message that many will spend 20-30.00 more for the better stuff. [or many are burning heating Oil] but my house would drink oil like a drunken sailor regardless of price so savings isn't going to happen if I just use oil.

That's how my house is with propane, so pellets are still a good deal for me.

FSU's were good for me last year. Don't know about this year's crop though.

FSUs - I had a dreadful batch and then a decent batch (burning them right now). Skeeter, grab a couple to try before you commit to a larger quantity.

I stopped at HD last week and they had 4-5 pallets, each a different brand, out in the breezeway to pick from. Out of them all, FSUs where the only ones that tempted me...In the end I didn't buy any, but may go back for a few later on. For the time being, HD has the best price around here - $5.18/bag. Waiting to see if it continues to drop and how much.
