I know how to time travel.
The only problem is that travelling now takes more time than it used to.
The trip to the kitchen is an exception. Oh, and the bathroom.

No satellite radio, but we did have AM.
No remote for the b/w tv.
No power steering in some cars.
    AC was sometimes an option.
I remember step-dad getting those newfangled "radial tires" back in the mid 60s. I told him they needed some air.

I'd like to do that with the knowledge I've gained in the last 50.

Larry, I too was born at home but we lived on a rural road, not in a city or town. Also remember when if we travelled, we kids kept a game going to see how many could spot a house with a tv antenna.

Earlier today I was talking to my son and we talked about things like cars. What started it was changing spark plugs. We didn't used to be blessed to not have to change plugs every 100,000 miles. We did it about every other oil change and also changed the points too at the same time. Our first brand new car cost us $1835. When I was young, we usually thought of a car as on it's second life at 50,000 miles. By then it was usually junk.

Party lines? Shoot, I can remember when we didn't even have phones! I was about 12 or 13 years old before we had our first tv. But, we had radios (2) and used to listen to them a lot. Yes, there have been many changes in my lifetime. Most good.

That right there would be my idea of time travel. Life seemed to be so much simpler then.

Ya, with many other things, many today have no idea what we are talking about sometimes but it still seems weird.

Same with my tailgate windown crank, it folds up on outside of the truck.

    Here's a couple:

The kids are not taught penmanship. They can basically sign their names (for legal documents in the future) but that is it.

Almost everyone 30 and younger can't read cursive. Seriously. I have had to "decipher" handwriting for a couple people and have had numerous older friends tell me they have had the same experience. I remember watching a writer on youtube say that she couldn't find interns (with masters degrees) to help her read old letters for a biography.

A woman brought her granddaughter (age 11) to work for "take your kid's to work day" because the girl wanted to use an old typewriter in a storage room. The girl had never seen a typewriter and thought it was fun.

A time travel machine could even pay for itself... ;) I'd want a woodstove in it... and lots of seats... :campfire:
