I have never seen heating oil or a tank besides on TV. Oh, and Rehab Addict gal cuts them in 1/2 to remove from basements.

I believe oil is the most used option for heat out here. Electric costs too much as does propane. NG only runs thru a couple of towns that boarder MA, and they are trying to keep it from getting any further into NH.

IHATEPROPANE , I have a (think) 1500 watt space heater. If I run it on fan only (no heat) do I still use all those watts?

Nope, it will hardly use any juice in fan only mode. If that space heater, or any for that matter has a low, or medium setting it will be less than the 1500 as well. Normally what I have seen is 750 For low, 1000 for medium and 1500 For high.

Agreed. Shop around Larry. Its like pellets-you gotta whack the brush a bit to find the good ones cheap :D

I use to say I would never have one, then we got one at work and my mind changed real quick. If I can get the individual cups at .50 or less each its worth it IMHO.

The maker is not for large groups, but at that price for one or 2 at a time, it cant be beat for a fresh cup of whatever blend you want every time. Staples has good deals, you just have to sign up for their email adds. They run 20% off K-Kups or Break-Room supplies (these fall under that) all the time. They even run 25% off the entire purchase from time to time. I often get the price down to .35-.40 per cup. Try that at Honeydew or Dunkin Donuts-that's the rip off.

Just found some New England Breakfast Blend at Hannaford's at $5.99/12. (.50/ea). Good coffee, and I like the mesh bag....less plastic to discard in the landfill. :coffee:

I scored some of the New England branded stuff at a Market Basket for 2.99/box a month ago. They had them in a cart in front of the registers and I missed them until after checkout. When I got back in line, that cashier made a lighthearted comment about forgetting something? I told her I could not pass up the pricing-the woman bagging turned around , saw them and stashed a few boxes for herself so they were not gone after her shift.

The last couple of days have been hectic. My bathroom has been open concept for a couple of months:hair:.

Instead of having a contractor arrange and perform a full remodel of my bathroom, I have taken it upon myself to get the job done, hiring the trades as I need them (don't ask, you don't have time to read the book I'd have to write in order to answer all the questions that would arise, and my fingers would be bleeding by the time I was done).

The first phase of remodel was to tear out the wall shared with the hall. This had to be done so that a pocket door could be installed, and the door opening moved from an end of the wall to the middle of the wall (yeah - I'll actually have a door that opens all the way - yeah, that is a whole 'nother story). However, in order to tear out the studs, I had to have the oversized shower removed since it was on that wall (are you following this okay :binoculars:?) SOOO, Wednesday night the plumber came over to remove the shower drain and water lines.

Yesterday morning the electrician was here to deal with the electrical in the wall, the carpenter removed the studs and rebuilt the wall, and the electrician ran the electrical back thru the wall. Meanwhile - the electrician helped me install sheetrock along a couple of walls in the basement. Hey, I was paying him for the whole day - he damm well could perform some grunt work for me too (too bad I couldn't pay him a laborer's wages :) ). Oh, and he also changed out the hallway light and light in the office so they weren't hanging horrors from the 60's (literally).

Today the carpenter came back and finished installing the pocket door, built the wall for the other side of the tub, installed sheetrock on the hall side of the wall - NO LONGER OPEN CONCEPT - YIPPEE!. (damm, picture comes out sideways no matter what I do to the PB pic)

Still don't have a tub/shower, but I was living in my car for several months so know how to wash up with just a sink and washcloth. Oh, yeah, vital info is that is my only bathroom.

Tomorrow the plumber will be here and, KOW, I'll be able to soak and/or shower tomorrow afternoon. The carpenter will be here Monday to finish the trim work for the pocket door - can't put up the sheetrock on inside for trim until the tub and surround are totally in since they are direct-to-stud.

Bathroom will only be half way remodeled, and won't be done until spring most likely, but it will be significantly better this coming Tuesday than it was just last Tuesday!

I suppose you could go around and whack it with a hammer :axe: along the bottom (most likely place to have issues if you get water in the tank, or the oil is subpar). (kidding- don't do that)

That is nothing - got 2 of them in the basement (actually 3, but the 3rd is nailed to the side of a floor joist). You will have to do a lot better than that!

This is the old hallway light. With a 60W bulb, it put out roughly the light of an almost burnt out night light because the glass is a dark amber. It was only 6 feet off the floor. Many a contractor hit his head. I was glad it was out of the way when the sheetrock went up today - it would have been a piƱata!

The 5 bulb "chandelier" that was in the office (it was the former owners dining room) had globes that were also dark amber. That thing hung just above my head (I'm 5'6") and was so ugly I didn't take a picture in fear it would break my camera. Once it was gone the room seemed much taller and larger as the chandelier overpowered this 8 x 8 x 8 room.

Yeah, that is why it will have a surround. I don't normally take baths, but a tub comes in very handy when cleaning bird cages, large household items or dogs (should I get another one). The shower will have a regular shower head plus a hand-held shower. It will also have a regular tub spout.
