    Got lucky when I got mine. Wanted a f350 with 7.3 and manual transmission. First place I went had it, that was 9 years or so ago though and still under 100K miles. Shoulda seen the look on the salesmans face when I said I've only ever driven a stick twice, and was using the test drive to learn.

    Got up early and took a load to the tree dump, cleaning up the yard nicely....returned with a nice bit of locust.

    That's what I call a win win. :)

    I have owned and driven many manual and auto trucks. I don't know if I could ever get it correctly on standard. I sometimes had a tendency to do what I think they called "ride the clutch".? Anyway I enjoy both types but find auto to be more enjoyable. If hauling heavy trailers a lot I think I would probably choose standard though. Tough decision sometimes when I find a nice truck when I'm looking for the next one. But have gone auto for my last several.
