I have really gotten to dislike how gm made the 2wd Silverado front end with a nose dive to the ground. Its a great hauler and I like it but the constant Im gonna fall out the windshield feeling is making me wonder who thought that up….

I have seen spacer and spring level kits. Which is better and how will it effect towing my wood trailers around? It has a full tow package and hauls fantastic I really don't wanna loose the towing traction or damage the front suspension. Any advice here?

I don't know much about it myself Pallet Pete, but my 2004 Silverado looks like it's been jacked up in the back, like hot rods of old, and don't level out till I have 2 face cords loaded up... Then I have to readjust the mirrors:hair:

I had a leveling kit on my 2013 GMC sierrea. It was 4 wheel drive. I drove it for 3 days with the stock size tires on and my gas mileage dropped about 2 miles a gallon. Once the oversized tires were put on I was down another 1 1/2 miles a gallon. The truck looked better, in my opinion anyway, but the extra air under the truck made a big difference in my fuel economy.
Mine was done with spacers. It was installed by my dealer for next to nothing, and only took about an hour and a half including realignment. I hope that helps

Did you see any improvement on gas mileage afterwards, FLP?

Nope! I averaged about 3 1/2 mpg less from there on out. There is a lot of information out there on truck forums, and I was not out of the "norm" at all. I really like the stance of the truck when it was completed, but I love my 21 mpg on my new 2015 Silverado. I'll probably do it again when it's time for tires though! :loco:  I will also have an engine tune done to offset the power loss from the larger tires. If you are fuel economy conscious, a leveling kit or lift is not going to ever help.
I just think it makes a truck look more like a truck. I don't really care for the big front end "dip" . It's just MHO opinion.
I hope others can share their experiences with 'em too!

I have a Z71 but I put a 2" leveling block in. I didn't notice any fuel drop. Also still toss fine. Just make sure you adjust your headlights.

I should have included that my kit was a 3" in front and 1" in back. I don't know that the extra inch makes or breaks anything.

Nice lookin truck RParrotte! Glad you didn't see the fuel economy loss.

Pete, I think my f150 sits annoyingly high in the back. Sometimes it is a pita to get heavy things in and out of. I'm considering removing the factory 2" blocks in the rear and adding airbags to level it out for towing and heavy loads.

On my 05 chevy I just cranked on the torsion bars to level it out. Its Free that way!

I'd lower the back end before raising the front on a 2WD truck.

If I drop my tire size on the front of my 2 wd S10 it gets better mileage.
Put coil over shocks on to compensate for my tool body.
Love the mileage and ride now.
Long trips lately on the V6 got me
    18 mpg
    I'll take it
Price I paid on the S10 years ago couldn't pass up either

It's a different truck, but I put 2" spacers on top of my coil-overs on my Frontier, and 1.5" spacers in the rear. It didn't change mileage or handling for me.
