    Theres a ton of hornbeam on the edges of swamp on my property and cousins. All 3-8" diameter. It makes easy cutting and fast wood. In the trailer and stacked in pile. No splitting.
    Ash would be a dream. Prolly most of that splits with an axe.:yes:

    Oh I love no splits ! I'd love a whole bunch of that buddy ! I'm close tho ;). Most of the ash splits very easy. That's been 99% of our wood to burn the last 5 years.....and for the next 40 lol....if the bugs don't get em first :(

    I cut some ash three years ago and after that length of time being css, can understand why everyone enjoys it so much. Good stuff for starting fires in a cold stove also. Just needs to be re-split into smaller sizes.
