Sorry Gasifier, when the cat's away, the mice will play!

So the guy that has the large shed where I store my boat over winter is a wood hoarder too. He just got an aquatherm WB, in his garage, where he keeps his 13 cords of wood and his super duty Ford and what appeared to be a stihl 440.

Oh yah, that's it, real nice.

I put some time building my son's desk today. Maybe sand and stain tomorrow. I just have 3 drawer fronts to finish.

I decided to flatten a little of the front to show off the grain.

Worked out good that dad had a curved walnut log that was already dry (top section of a standing dead tree) laying right next to the sawmill he borrowed from his neighbor. That log was literally an hour from being firewood.

Wire wheeled the sap wood...sanded the whole thing with 80....then 220....then wet sanded with 400 and mineral spririts.

Might be able to poly it today if I don't spend too much time hunting.

Just woke up from a FHC nightmare!

My friend had me helping cut and split wood for his stove with his dad....but we were cutting landscape timbers and old power poles....and they were at random lengths just to add insult to injury!

I started an early morning fire with some nice even length maple splits to ward away any more evil dreams!:)

Is that video connected to a news report somewhere, Stinny? All joking aside, just wondering about the exact cause...

Have a big day planned out for today.

After replacing the gasket on the nc-13 wood stove door yesterday, I will run to the cottage and install the door on the stove. Then light a quick fire.
Next, I hope to....(ahh...errr...fire sure feels warm). Maybe that'll do for today.
