I think if a company is willing to warranty their saw if you use 50:1 they would have just as much to lose as the purchaser. That is why I use saw brand oil. I don't think they would want any bad reports of failed saws or junk products. 20151021_123932.jpg But if the dealer was a putz I understand wanting to take my business elsewhere.

On yeah, new saw, warranty extended when you buy their oil at purchase is a no brainer. After that though,

They can't legally not warranty cover your saw if you don't use their oil, but if you get an extended warranty by buying their oil you'll probably use it, until it runs out.

I bought 3 quarts of the Husky premix with my new saw just to get the 4 year extended warranty but I'll be darned if I will spend that much while I am using the saw. I have burned a quart of that stuff but have also gone through over a gallon of fuel I mixed myself. When/if I put the saw away for winter I will probably use the premix in the last tank full but no way am I going to use that expensive stuff routinely for my 555. 2 stroke oil is very cheap compared to that ridiculous brand name premix.

I'm with you Oldman47. A saw I bought came with 3 cans of it. I keep them in the shed just in case there is some sort of emergency and I
I'm with you-no way in hell I'm paying 20 something bucks a gallon to run my saws or anything else 2 stroke when a gallon of unleaded is less than a tenth of the cost of canned fuel. I don't care what ethanol does to a fuel system-I'm not paying anywhere close to that for canned fuel.

I am pretty sure when I priced caned fuel here was something like $32 or $36 a gallon and we have e free gas available. Does anyone use this premix fuel on a regular basis, and care to share why?

I can see the guy who only uses the saw once a year buy a can over mixing a gallon that will not get fully used.

I'd rather mix a gallon and dump the rest in my car if I'm not going to use it over paying $32 a gallon. I can see charging a premium but that is nuts.

I run amsoil because I can get it at cost and it is the only quality 2 stroke available locally in quart bottles. It is good oil. Better than HP ultra or the like? Probably not, probably not any worse either. It's not a miracle oil and I won't run it at their crazy mix ratio, I run 32:1. It doesn't smoke much after warm up.

Anything amsoil has a huge fan-boi cult. SN ratio among the fan-bois can get a little out of hand. There's the wheat, the chaff and a whole bunch of anecdotal bullchit covering the whole mess.

Only for the muffler bearings. If you do a muffler mod, you may not need it (if you remove the bearings ) but it may give it a squeaky pitch

Better check if you journals or rolling elements in your muffler bearings.

Rolling elements only need like eleventy billion : 1 mix to get the elastohydrodymanic wedge established.

Journal bearings needs LOTS of oil to get their hydrodynamic wedge and get out of boundary condition, better mix 1:1 just to be safe.

I was at the store just awhile ago to get some Amsoil trans fuild for my boys car when he comes in on Christmas break. Like going through everything before it heads back out after new years.
$13 a qt :bug: dang stuff going up.

Anyhow noticed they carried 5 kinds of Amsoil 2 stroke mix. About $8 - $12 a qt too. Not that I would use any just letting you know what I saw today.
Saber, Dominator, Interceptor , Synthetic 2-Stroke Injector Oil, Marine.

I can only imagine. I hit a skunk with a ski hill groomer once. It was messy...
