    Went below freezing last night. Mix of box elder and a couple sticks of oak last night and a relaod of all box elder this morning. Headed to upper 50s today so will let it go out till evening. Keeping the house at 72-74 and loving it!

    Was 38 this mourn. Loaded oak and walnut last night and baby room was 69 bit cooler in ours and 76 in room loaded walnut this mourn.

    It's more than a cabin. At around 2500 square feet it will be my primary residence. I have it enclosed, heated, wired, well is working, it is fully insulated, most of the drywall is up except around tub and shower area. With full basement access I have installed things like the TV receptacles in the walls with short runs of conduit to the basement so I can run whatever I want later for entertainment systems. My access to the internet around here is strictly using a radio repeater system or satellite so I pre-ran a conduit to bring in the internet antenna to a receptacle inside for my WiFi router. I still need to finish out the walls with mud and paint and install the floors. After that I can get on with fixtures like sinks, toilets, the cooking island and such. Outside the porches are just roofs and ledger boards because finishing inside is my priority right now. My next outdoors priority is the gutter system so that I can get it done before it snows and stops me. Once the gutters are in the final grading can be done and the septic system can be installed. I am using a ramp to access the house for work and used it to roll my stove into the house using a dolly, it is a strong ramp.

    Actually I am not making good progress, at least in my mind. Far too often I find a reason to make zero progress on a given day. Today I hope to install the green board in the master bath but the shower control valve has me stymied. It has very specific location requirements compared to the final shower surface location but that is hard to determine without actually installing and then removing the green board over and over again in that shower stall. That means install the shower wall with a preliminary cut out, then measure everything and remove it. Once removed I can trial fit the shower control then re-install the green board. If I get very lucky I will not need to remove the green board a second time but more likely I will do it at least another time or two. This kind of thing can really get frustrating.
    If you want things done right, as I do, you put up with multiple dry fits but it is never much fun.

    Went for a ride this a.m. as her yota needed to be seen by a dealer and noticed that quite a few quiet ponds along the way had a thin layer of ice on them. Starting to get ready for the deep freeze.

    Well, well, well.
    Snafu.
    Forecast for last night was 38, so I put a little wood in the stove before bed..yada, yada.....but when I got up this morning it was 29. WTH?
    64 in here, so I put more wood in the stove...... the wood that probably should have gone in the stove last night.
    Supposed to be 55 and sunny today, so I won't get the stove crankin' too much.

    22 degrees here currently, and a comfortable 75 inside with yet another load of Box Elder burning down in the stove. We should hit the low 40's today before a cold front sweeps through overnight tonight.

    30 this morning-loaded hickory, oak, and maple and have let the stove go now. Low 50s out. Warmup from today on until the next front pushes through on thurs. More rain and high winds.
