Not yet....... its been over an hour now. I freakin forgot to ask how long it would take, but they'll call me afterwards. Once we get over this hurdle, its the post surgery I worry about too. 4"-6" incision +the spaying. Keeping her calm when shes explodes with energy will be tricky.........

I guess we're not going out duck hunting tomorrow for opening day........ I figured out her plan was successful. Sit by the fire recooperating rather sitting by the waters egde cold and dripping wet with disgusting down feathers in her mouth!

Ours always laid around until the meds wore off, then it was almost like nothing had happened.
They seem to heal fast too.

Well GOOD NEWS about 3 minutes after I replied, the surgeon called and said Maple did well! He needed to also cut an incision in her small intestine (unable to move the object to the colon from the outside) patched up the intestine and did a leak test. No leaks! He did explain that she does have a very large incision. Typically when they go in to the intestine region, the incision is from the rib cage down to the abdominum. Since we had her spayed as well, he had to go farther south. She will spend the next couple of days in the hospital, and then be able to come home. Watching for infection and bleeding is critical, so continued thoughts and prayers will be appreciated. We will be able to visit her tomorrow night around 8ish. Ill bring the camera for all Maple's FHC pet loving friends! :)

The fact that the vet said she did well, is great and I'm pulling for her to continue to do so.
A situation like this is very similar to having a human kid in the hospital for surgery, because we love our furry friends so much.

The come home with the crown of shame to keep them from ripping stitches. Don't take pity on them by cutting it down. I'm hanging around hoping for good news.
