Two loads of not so good Pine out and in pile. It will be okay for spring/fall heating. Break time now. Wife wanted to go grocery shopping so I told her I would watch the kids. Nice hour long break!
- 2 at the moment, I have a load of beech going, 77 in the basement and it's 71 upstairs in the living room.
Real feel of 1 at the moment and it feels colder than that! Went to work in the garage but I couldn't get past the beer fridge just before the back door.
LOFL. Don't have the misses put a lock on it Pete. Your honey do list will grow and the beer intake will go down toooooo much.
Hmm interesting advice so I need to get drunk before the argument then aehhh. I'll tell her it was your idea!
LOL Nope. Just didn't want you to get the "bright" idea to have her put a lock on it in order to get more work done. Might back fire on ya. LOL
Thermo shows -5 on back porch. It did not get as cold as they had said it would. I'm okay with that, this is cold enough. The Wood Gun is cruisin through some Ash!
Below (in red) could be tomorrow night for our area Gasifier, you can be sure we'll be burning straight Beech in the wood stove, the pellet stove in the opposite corner will be burning the small logs. Starting tomorrow morning we'll start running both, so we can fill the basement with heat However, farther east, another large bubble of frigid air is poised to push southward out of eastern Canada and into parts of the mid-Atlantic and New England. During Wednesday night, ahead of a snowstorm brewing for much of the Northeast, temperatures will plunge to 30 degrees below zero around the St. Lawrence Valley. Where skies are clear and winds are light, temperatures could plummet to almost 40 degrees below zero and rival all-time record lows.
I almost hit the "like" button on that post woodlands! But then I thought about and said I don't "like" it that cold! LOL. But thank you for the information. I will be warming the house and attached garage up higher all day tomorrow with the boiler. When it gets below zero I usually heat my basement up to 78-80 and let that steady heat rise up the stairs. Then if the basement and next floor don't call for heat for a long time. This helps me buy a longer time with a full load of wood in boiler and still get 7-8 hours of sleep.
I'm hoping the forecast is wrong but the only thing they've been correct about this year is the cold.
