A large city and it's leaders over many years fails to take care of it's infrastructure and a whole lot of people and the environment suffer a disgusting consequence because they don't want to pay the extra money it would cost to clean it up and ship it to a proper disposal site (lined protected hole in the ground) in the province of Quebec. Can't do that. Cost too much. Money. It is ALL about money. Don't just question this dumping. All over out great country, in different regions, Canada ships a bunch of it's garbage into the United States via trucks and trains. Yup. That's right. We accept there garbage because they really don't want it. And the U.S. let's them. If someone can make some money doing it. Why not? Right. Now why can't they dig a hole and line it in the Provinces of Canada? Too pristine an environment there? Apparently not here. Tell me they are 100% positive those liners in our dumps will not leach contaminates from the breakdown into the water table. 50-100-150 years from now. What do we think? There won't be any people living around these dumps that far in the future? Or they won't need clean water. Oh. Wait. What am I thinking. We'll just deal with that when we get there.
