Hey, did you ever try to light your kindling with a computer? Don't work, These young folks won't know what paper can be used for when all they have are their electronics IPADS and such.
Welcome to the forum Hotmama. I apologize as I normally read all the posts before posting but this time I did not. I will say though, this sounds like pure bull to me. What in Sam Hill has the plumbing got to do with building fires? Makes no difference if male or female. After all, it does not take muscle! Just build a fire and enjoy it. Play with different methods if you want but it is not rocket science. If you've built fires before, there is no reason you can't do it again. Outdoor fire, fireplace fire, stove fire. There really is not much difference. Some like the top down method and there is a video put out but although it works, I think there are better ways. Last evening we got home from a trip and the house was cold. I thought about that video and how long it would take to get the stove going with their way. Ha! I just lit the fire and filled the stove. Warmed up the house nicely in short order.
My wife is a stay at homeschooler, I showed her once how to light it. She's smoked the house out a few times, but once she figured out the damper she was fine. I just wish she didn't think the house needed to be 80 since the wood is "free"
You better get back out there cutting, she be burning all your wood, cuz it's "free" Ha ha! Welcome Rower.
Looking at the positives, now your thinking. You're still gonna need to cut more wood, but you'll be smiling while you do it.
I'm pretty sure I would be insulted. I hate it when I'm doing something and a man decides to just take over. If I'm making mistakes, let me learn from them or at least nudge me in the right direction. But build a fire? There really isn't a whole heck of a lot to it. Like someone else said, this isn't rocket science! Here's one of mine! I love Firevision!
Starting a fire is one thing; Running a stove safely, cleanly and efficiently is something else entirely.
Quite right. And that is why we are members of this forum. To help one and all burn safely cleanly and efficiently. And if I'm elected, I promise to ........(add your own nausea here)
