I know the historical meaning of the "Don't tread on me," but I would like someone to make a similar flag/bumper sticker saying "I won't tread on you." That is where it all starts, isn't it, respecting others? Greg
I bought this in Boston at Fanueil Hall on the tour route, that's where Sam & John Adams, Paul Revere and the other troublemakers hung out.
I agree, Warm in AZ & Southern CA could be riding a bike & several hours more daylight. I need to figure out a better way & start working on the "Snow Bird" thing.
Most folks wait until right after New Year's then leave around March 1. It's like a mass Exodus. We went one year around November 1 but usually went in December. The first year it was about a week into January when we left home. That was too late for me if I'm heading south. The year we went in November I remember riding the bike on Thanksgiving day and the temperature was around 70 degrees. Beautiful day for riding!
If you head south this time of year you can ride the bike to make the journey. I am still using mine for my commute. You would need to ship clothes ahead though.
At this rate Backwoods Savage Ill still be cutting grass in December! We have only lit the stove twice so far I might get her going this weekend but the forcast for next week is back in the 60s and 70s!
Yea, I'd need to wear all my clothes, -2°, & Id be riding thru some areas that are -15° + some areas I'd need to make over 300 miles per day to get to a warm place to rest & get food. Bike in a cardboard box on an airplane , me in a window seat
Sorry. My bike has heated grips and I have no trouble riding it down to about 20ºF. Since my daytime highs are close to 50ºF I would ride south until it started to cool off in the evening and would be in a much warmer climate in a matter of 2 or 3 days. Of course I get to ride my bike at 70 MPH with its big engine.
Don't see motorcycles out riding now. Going South here , road stops in Homer. + snow & ice on roads over the mt passes Night time temps 7° there, but 20° daytime temps Did see tracks of a fat bike with studs riding the bike path
Hey, It warmed up to 0° Back on topic At the rate I'm burning, will be emptying the ashes in a few days The last time I get to handle the wood
Stick around Dave. I think they still have the mtn bikes riding the Iditarod trail. Now that would be a challenge for sure!
Been out & about today Saw the State (PU- w/plow )plowing the paved non-motorized trails along the roads. If/when it warms up some, I may get a ride or 2 in . (yea, I'm nuts ) Sunny and a crisp 11° right now, Stove is making ashes
Just FYI our wooly bears were right on the money. Not sure if we even had Winter last season LoL!! There were more 70 degree days than freezing.
Welcome back dusky. Missed you. It was a relatively mild winter but it seems the cold did not want to leave in March-April or at least until the last half of April. Even then it did not warm up much here until into May. Now we want cooler! Probably will be running air conditioner starting tomorrow and for the rest of the week.
