Nice. It looks like you're getting a good burn. I love the way the Cubex pellets burn. I wish I could find a local supplier.

Haha, that's awesome. You should sign up. Being a consultant is where the $$$$ is at!

I hear you on the number of BTU's in your place. I get the same from my friends and family. I have a small house and have the P61, a propane furnace and now the Endurance. Oh well. I like to be warm and I like to have backup.

Speaking of the Endurnace, work's been kicking my azz as well as outside prewinter chores. I'm really hoping to get back to finishing the install.

I hear what you're saying. Insurance companies will use anyting they can get their hands on if it means they don't have to pay out. All you're saying is that they could frown on the latch mods or use it as an excuse.

I replaced the one broken door latch, $20ish for two so now I have a spare. I do need to replace the old rubber door seal and finding it is proving to be a little difficult. Epdm rubber that's heat resistant for the distribution air so up to 200 degrees would be on the safe side. A tighter door seal is what we're chasing after:thumbs:

Have you found a place to get the door seal? Mines a touch ratty and will need to be redone.

I got four spare latches when I bought my furnace. I guess the original owner broke a few. I haven't broken one yet, and I'm going on season 3 with mine.

Having said that, I expect one to disintegrate in the next few weeks.

I was looking at one which had a hallow hole in the middle somewhat like a car door seal but much smaller(1/2" wide and no more than 1/4" thick so it compress to make a better seal). The OEM doesn't compress very much so you have leakage which is a waste of heated air along with the inadequate distribution fan adds up quickly on inefficiencies. The search is still on going and I will let you know when found:handshake:

Haha, karma listens to everything you say as well hmmmm? I have the same problem. I only ever say how well something is working for me if I want to have issues with said item.

Soooo.... I was able to hook up the stove yesterday and fire it!!! :dex:

Thanks to everyone for all the help. I still have lots of work to do to clean up and finish the area around the stove, but at least I was able to fire it.

I do have a few issues though, that I am going to work on today. The burn was very dirty and the stove didn't produce a lot of heat. I've pulled the burn pot back apart today and am going to address some air leaks as well as fill some holes to ensure more air is getting to the bottom of the pellets. I also need to install the side baffles.

One major issue I'm going to need to address is the fact that the base tee I installed interferes with the outside air intake. Not quite sure what I'm going to do about this issue. I'll have to change the vent around to make room to get the pipe to the air intake.

    Picture will follow later guys.

Even with my DT-M vent, things get tight quickly behind the furnace. The inlet is rather too close to the exhaust outlet for my liking:mad:

Not sure I'll leave it this way, but I rolled the base tee to 45 degrees and added another 45 degree elbow. This gives me more room by the air intake, but no sure yet if it's enough to get the air intake hose connected.

Yeah. Spent a bunch more time on it tonight. The auger doesn't seem to feed enough pellets into the stove. I'm wondering it the old owner put a new auger motor on and installed the wrong one. I'm going to contact Matt at Fahrenheit Technologies to make sure the proper motor is being used.

Did a bunch of work to the burn pot to try and force air through the pot itself, and it's better, but still getting a lazy, dirty flame. I'm going to keep at it, but I'm running out of ideas!

Usually a pic of the fire helps a lot on troubleshooting. At first, I was having a very low flame until I started to increase the heat levels. I did some experiments on heat & fuel timings on auger feed intervals. Good to have as a reference. The original auger is a 2rpm in my case Merkle-Korff if I remember correctly.

Right on. I'm starting to learn my stove as well. After playing with the stove last night I came to think the hopper had an air leak as I could see a buffeting in the flame in the area of the auger discharge chute. I emailed Matt today and he confirmed what I am seeing as a possible hopper leak.

I spent a bit of time tonight tearing down the machine again so I can gain access to the hopper and I think I have identified a couple areas the hopper may be leaking. Once I do the work and test I'll report back.

I'm still not sure what to do about the auger motor though. I installed a 4 rpm unit and it works excellent. It's not OEM but when I used the 2 rpm unit it just won't feed enough pellets in and there is no way to speed up the auger, which I am not a fan of. I'll see if I can get the air leak fixed first then maybe put the 2rpm auger back on and see if the feed will be fine.

As I am starting to run this stove I am seeing that the latches you installed are going to be needed on my stove. There is a large gap on the one side of the outer door and it is allowing a lot of air to escape before passing over the front of the stove.
