rainy day got a little brighter ,a good heaping truck load ,this dope of a turkey was very close to me and did not mind the noise,maybe chainsaws can be used for turkey calls.

Must be different birds out there. They are not smart here and easy to get one. I have to laugh as almost everyone who has hunted here has their bird within the first hour and many times within the first 1/2 hour. One reason I hate them too is that when we plant something they will scratch it up super fast. So we try to time the planting just before a rain as they don't like to scratch in the wet dirt.
Huh..... must be different birds, looks like If everybody killed one in 30 minutes or an hour, you would not have any to worry about. Sure ain't that easy in WV, yep sounds like you have really dumb birds or really awesome hunters up there Dennis. Lol...
Nice haul Fess!!! We have the Birds walking around here also! It's kinda nice to see them, they were almost killed off here many years back and they are coming back fairly strong. They are almost fearless of humans in some places now, But you won't see one come hunting season!
Here , it's the Canadian geese! On our base, they have to fire hose down the walkways in some places because the poop is a couple inches thick. . Our grounds guys have tried "everything" fake dogs, noises, screamers, and they just keep coming back.
Well, we have one party who comes from Louisana to hunt. His daughter came a few years back to get her first tom. It took her about 25 minutes. She was not able to come back until last spring but this time it took her about 45 minutes to get a nice tom. We don't have a large acreage here but all summer we had 2 flocks of toms, one of jakes and 3 flocks of hens plus one lone hen. Just imagine what that will bring us next summer... None killed so far this fall so this does not look good for us. I'm thinking of acquiring a gatlin gun or something similar. Maybe gernades would help?
