I compromised and put in 1/2 a tank of gas to mow leaves hoping the tank would empty for winter storage. The dang thing lasted longer than it normally takes me to actually mow the whole yard (1.3 hours). The tank still isn't empty but I got tired of chasing stragglers around :headbang:. Started a cabbage, onion and sausage stew in the crockpot :stirpot: sat down and read while the Pats played. Maybe I should have watched, they usually start playing crappy when I do - at least the game would have been interesting. I thought my curse was working because shortly after I turned on the game, the Pats fumbled (I did get to see the awesome on-side kick though ). Then I started reading and the Skins fumbled so the Pats got it back and never seemed to let it go after that. Then they went to OT of another game, but "according to NFL broadcast rules", they had to go to the post-game show - ugh.

Nope, if it gives me any more grief, I'm locking the 'self-propelled' handle on w/ more electrical tape & pointing it towards a cliff.
It really does need a new air filter though. And I "may" have been involved with the pull start handle breaking. .. :headbang:..

Yeah, I know that smile savemoney - it means something other than pellets are about to get roasted here. :MM:

Damm Smokey - for being retired, you are one busy Bear. And well stocked. And Brewing! Cool!

Thanks for that reminder - the Boss will start the 'Zucchini Bread cooking fiesta' soon, I'd better start stocking up supplies here.

    Nice one, Smoke.

He also let me know that I had not venting.......eave vent was there, cap vent was there but there was no gap at the peak :hair: He took care of that.

Doesn't seem right, but then it is all about money/bought advertising. How did the soup turn out?

Well, it was a gorgeous "10" day outside and 60*......forecast is for the temps to start slowly dropping, so decided it was time to finish "buttoning-up" the shack for winter:

Blow leaves into the woods for final time √
Ran power cord to shed for s**wblower √
Checked oil on s**wblower, started it, checked operation, fill gas √
Got roof rake near shed door √
Got salt near shed door √
    Found my ice cleats √
Had the gas furnace serviced √

    Guess I'm ready.....
Popped open a Yuengling Light √

Seems I got to get my TPMS reset. The bells went off on the way to work this AM. Normally with a low tire is says low tire pressure in the measage center. Todays warning was one I've never seen before. Tire pressure monitor fault? Called Discount tire and they said its either a bad sensor or it just need reprogramming. This is the 4th set of tires and I have never had to reprogram the system. ever!

Well I hope the reprogramming works! I got to stop on the way home tomorrow night and pick up the trigger/reset tool.

We get that warning a LOT at work on the Fords we bring in from lease return. Sometime the reset works, sometimes not.

Took some pics for another Francesca stove owner today, had the OAK off, decided 'what the hay', did a 2 ton cleaning.. Pulled flue block plate, inspected & cleaned smoke shelf & chimney, all venting, etc. Everything's clean & spiffy! Ready to rock 'n roll!

Was a really nice day here too imacman - you got a lot done today. Round 12(?) with the mower tomorrow am. :saw:

:p I still have a lot of work to do (will be on the road soon), so have one for me too, Thanks!

    Cheers!

    Just about ready here ...

Took down all the duct work last Wednesday & gave it a good cleaning then reassenbled and used Hi_R to insulate all the rectangle duct, and sleeved the round.

Linda cleaned the gardens and I added a couple inches of compost to them and around shrubbery, bulbs are dry or drying and the canning & preserving are complete.

The leafs and pine needles are all about dropped & Linda says she saved them for me, so tomorrow looks like lawn blowing and bagging after topping off the compost pile. Also gotta make a trip to the farm for some manure. Used to have enough critters to not have to pick up manure but now just a couple hogs in the summer and 25 chickens and a couple of Turkeys.

About as ready for winter as we ever are I guess.

No, A wheel and tire package(winter tire set). The whole cabang.

Discount tire rep assures me the training will work. He said they have redesigned the sensors and the BCM has a tizzy with them. Once trained they will be fine. He said I mostly will also have to retrain when I go back to the older sensors in the summer tires.

Most likely I'll get my own tool JIC($38.00ish)............
