This process took me way longer than planned, but I think I scored a sweet deal.

I scored a lightly used quadrafire 4100i insert, with ss liner, and offset adapter for $350 off of craigslist. It was still in the house that will be demolished and a gas station will take it's place. So my buddy and I showed up at noon today, and took it out, and got it to my house.
We were back by 2:15, and it was an hour drive. So we got it out and loaded onto the trailer in a little more than an hour.

It's in the garage now, but I plan on installing it over thanksgiving.

Not the best pics, but its in great shape, and I may only need a couple items like a top cap to fit my 14" x 14" Terra cotta chimney. There's a bit of the ss liner that was ovalized to fit through the camper, but that looks to be how I need to get though my damper in my fireplace anyway.

Here the pic of it installed at the former owners house.

It's a bit dirty, but it's in excellent shape, so I'm very happy with it. It was installed there new in 2004, by one of the reputable local stove stores.

I'll clean it up tomorrow and take more pictures of it.

    Exactly what I burn in.

Just remember the draft knobs are like gas pedals. To light, kindle it directly in front of the center dog house air hole.

    Horkn,
    Great score!!!!
Last year there was an auction near Pepin, WI. that had two quadrafire 4100i that had the same situation where you needed to remove them. Both went for over $600 each. I stopped at $400. So, $350 was a good deal.
    Congrats.

Yea 350 was a smoking deal. And the liner to go with it!!! The liner is probably worth that new!

Here it is after I cleaned it up a bit. Got all the ashes out of it, cleaned the glass, wiped down the surfaces a little bit too. IMG_20151108_191520734.jpg

The metal still looks ashy, what do you guys use to keep the stoves looking nice and black?

But seriously I dont wipe mine with much more than a rag and water. Maybe some cleaner??? Someone probably has a better suggestion.

Yep, that was one of the wife's main requests. As much glass as I could get, I did.

The paint is in great condition, so I don't think that is necessary.
