Last time WWW was in our short attic he bumped his head, he was sweating in the heat up there, got back down and realized it was blood from a roof nails sticking through. Rest your knees tonight.

Hectic afternoon. Had a couple of our guys get blown off the road by a RAC Transport semi in near white-out conditions. Almost rolled the truck and the guy in the pass. seat broke the windshield with his head. Both are OK, but wearing neck braces. Bad luck all around.
Darn semi driver was going almost 70, barely avoided a full-on rear end smack down. Trailer hooked our truck, flipped it 90 deg. and flung it into the ditch. Somehow, they didn't roll.

Amateur-( truck driver.) I'm gonna work this one- " Would you like fries with that?" only thing coming out of that *drivers* mouth for a while. Yeah, I'm pizzed.

Caffeine going down, I think I will get a little time in cleaning the garage before I have to watch the three kids for a while. Wife is going to take a horse riding lesson this morning, and go to a couple local stores. Her few hours to herself for the week. Boy does she need and deserve it. I'll be taking the kids to basketball practice this morning. Then hopefully get some things done outside this afternoon. If I don't get rained out. If I do, I have plenty to do inside. Boy do I need to organize my tools and work bench in the garage.:picard:

Yes. When she wanted to get horses I told her I did not want them. I do not want anyone to get hurt. Her, me, or any of the kids. But after she would occasionally keep talking about and I thought about it more I realized if that is what she wanted, she deserved to have it. She doesn't ask for much and she does so much for others. We would just have to be careful, and like anything you do, treat them with respect and learn about them. So one day I told her I would make it happen for her. She had this very happy look on her face and I realized just how badly she wanted them. So I told her as long as the horses will be for here and here only. I am not transporting them around in a trailer, going to shows, yada, yada, yada. We have plenty of land and can just use them for trail riding. So everyone in the family understands that. And it is agreed upon. And when we are ready we are going to carefully select two horses, maybe with the help of her trainer, that are already trained, a little older, gentle and calm. When she started taking lessons I told her I really hope she is careful too. We can't afford anyone getting hurt, and like you said, it is easy to do. So she found a woman through a friend/co-worker who does riding instruction. About 15 miles from our house. She uses horses that are a little older and have been trained by her for riding. Indoor arena and trail riding. She knows both styles, but usually just teaches western. And my wife just wanted to learn Western. They are only riding inside her large arena right now at the stage my wife is at (learning the basics). The instructor does not require her to have much of anything in equipment. She only needs a pair of boots with heals, and a riding helmet. She believes in simple. She is really enjoying it. So far, so good.

    Horses are evil!

A number of years ago there was a team of horses that were hooked to a wagon in the corn field across from the area I process wood at. Big Belgians. The vet/part time farmer was hand shucking corn.

The team wasn't uses to the noise of the corn getting thrown into the wooden wagon and bolted right towards me. I tried to wave them off but it didn't help. The only thing that stopped them was my truck...it's door, fender, hood and passenger side window :)

It did make for a great telephone call to the insurance agent. :)

About a month later I was on a horse. It spooked popped a wheelie and when that didn't get me off of it, he decided to lay down on its side...and on my leg. Crunch goes my foot!

So...whenever I pass a horse out in a field I try to taunt it by calling out the window..."The Elmer's glue factory called for you!"

    Made it home.
Was a windysumbeech in western MI. Blowing trucks cattywompus all over the road including mine.
MI, IN,and OH sure has some nice smooth roads !
PA and NY need to quit robbing the taxpayer and fixsumchit! I mean really.... the roads here are in the worst condition I have ever seen.
Didn't see much for roadkill deer until PA and NY. Maybe that's the connection,,,, bad roads=high deer population.
About 15 years ago I made that same voyage around thanksgiving and it was deer carnage everywhere along the roads.

True. And the federal gov. needs to start rebuilding our infrastructure. Roads, bridges, electrical grid. Creating jobs and building OUR country back. I'm sick of building other countries chit!

Some horses can have their issues especially if they have not had good training.
I go to Yellowstone every year on elk hunts and fishing trips. Rugged country, places that only a horse can get you into.
Through rivers and up and down the sides of mountains they are amazing adventures. I have had a few train wrecks but never been hurt. Also you are pulling a mule behind you while doing all this.
Next year my BIL who owns the horses and mules and I will make a 60 mile trip through Yellowstone.
Evil I do not think so.
