you can have a couple bags of Blackstone pellets to try if you get down my way - Rocky Hill / Middletown
Thank you kindly artc, I really appreciate the offer. A bit busy getting ready for winter at the moment. But once I get a chance I'll get in touch. What other brands do you carry? I might bring some extra coins and pick up a few of this and that if you have some stuff I don't have local access to.
looking to bring in Easy Blaze both the SYP and the blend, just to try a load or two to see if $300 and $ 290 will work out as shipping from VA is pricey
Funny how softies from British Columbia can be sold at the same price point as something that comes out of Virginia.
I think there's some areas it could come by rail but I don't think out in that region it's available. But still, it's coming 3K mile clear across from the west coast were as it's a 500 mile give or take from VA to CT.
I'm glad it works out like that though cuz I love me them softies coming in from the great white north!!!
Several hundred tons going 3K miles is easier to blend in the cost of shipment than 22 going by truck IMHO. Bulk is even cheaper, The reason one is doing bulk rail to a plant in Mass. I don't have the figures, Just an estimated guess, I think there has to be some significant savings going larger loads by rail than smaller loads by trucking. But I honestly don't have a clue about this, So if someone does? Please enlighten the crowd.
If a driver is charging $3 a mile, that's $1,500 a truck or $68 a pallet for shipping. Based on 500 miles.
He's doing bulk so it should be even more than what has to get loaded into rail cars IMHO. Coarse then he has to pay labor to bag them........ So it might be a warsh?? Is he still using La Crete's??
you tell me.... I don't follow that chit. We have very few bad pellets here. Matter of fact you guys like what I don't(Marth).
