It just got dark too early and I wasn't done doing what I wanted to do. 70 degrees outside.
I had a thousand watts of light out there
Did some splitting, then after dark stacked some wood on the porch, cut up some poles and limbs, stacked some of those.
I didn't think about taking a picture until I was ready to unplug the lights.

Nice! When I came home with that larch I split it after work in the dark as well. Everything was frosty but it was nice. Did you have help or did you do what i did and work by yourself. Just you the lights and lots of farwood!?

As Long as you're working right in the processing area works out pretty good, then I wear headlight for walking around putting things away.
I had plenty of light to see what I was doing with the Saw

70°, at night , in November, is NUTS !
Maybe the lights are producing out all the heat :)

The night Picture does look pretty cool !
Looks like you even cleaned up

I have a mess out at the splitting area,
Was frozen to the ground, maybe tomorrow it's thawed & I can clean up some.
Prob 2 wheel barrow loads of bark & chips to burn.

I was unloading the rounds in the dark , every load.
    Had a fluorescent lantern & a headlamp.
I agree , days got too short too soon.

Yep, when you add up all the things you have to do to get it, there is no such thing as free or easy firewood

You have to like it don't you? I enjoy myself most occasions but don't think I would burn wood if I didn't enjoy the lifestyle. I would just justify a reason to pay for the natural gas heat. I'm sitting in the stove room right now in shorts and its -3 c outside! Lovin it:thumbs:

Tundra is a 8 year old Siberian Husky with plenty of mischievousness in her. We ended up chatting with a musher at the local dog sled races and they told us they had some pups that were close to ready so we drove out to the bush kennel and checked them out. Shes great with the kids and is an awesome friend for me in the bush. Our last Husky died many years ago and was a male gentle giant wolf cross.
