I see that. Oh well, we will make the best of it. It's going to be a good vacation! The temperature this morning is right at 20 on my back porch. Would be nice if you lose some of this ice today. Let's hope it hits 40!
48 yesterday,53 (!) today so not burning anything. Most of the snow from last weekend should be gone by late this afternoon. Another Artic blast moving in later tonight - low of 10,high of 10 tomorrow, with 30% chance of more snow on Monday/Tuesday.Not supposed to be above 15-20 for all next week.Lows 0 to 10 below.Time for more White Oak,Honey Locust with a little Mulberry/Green Ash/Hickory mixed in....
50f!!! Not burning! I still have a slow fire of oak or pine burning in the stove. Won't take long for this uninsulated hose to get to 60f with those temps! A day maybe.
28° on the back porch this morning. Boiler is running less in these milder temps. White Ash/White Pine mix. (75/25)
That Artic blast came in fast last night.Late afternoon it was 51,by midnight it was 24 & I heard the wind howl all night... 12 right now, supposed to be 6 later today.Wind advisory until Monday afternoon,NNW gusts up to 45 until then.No change in forecast, not getting above 15 until next Friday.
Heck of a change isn't it? No jacket yesterday...-2 now. Not sure the dogs will want to go out for their run this morning.
Oh man. It is interesting seeing you guys out west reporting your weather and knowing it will be here shortly. Some places saying it is suppose to go to at least -20 this week for our local area.
WOW it shot up to 11 a couple hours ago, been full sun all morning. Not that bad if the wind would die down.Revised forecast says 19-21 for tomorrow & Tuesday with up to 1" new snow in late afternoon.
Still just above 40º here but supposed to be 20º by morning and never get much warmer tomorrow. Got the hickory, locust and cherry all set. Actually I have some oak,ash and hard maple ready too. I have a real heavy mix this year. Other than loading a few times with all cherry in the evenings I have rarely had all the same species in a load.
It's still 32.4 on the Radio Shack special, just started our first fire of the day before dinner, beech ,elm & some cherry. Cleaned most of the ash out of the wood stove (left about 1 inch of ash in the stove) I cleaned the chimney on the outside & the pipe on the inside of the pellet stove, I also cleaned the inside. I removed a chit load of ice at my neighbors, it was stopping him from getting his wood in, after that was done I pushed in five loads, he did one before I took over. This is the shovel I use when removing ice, best I've ever used. http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1276074
Years back I went to our local True Value, I picked up an ice chipper then the owner told me that this shovel was better than anything else you could buy, my neighbor couldn't believe how good it worked.
15* right now. Burning some Ash with a little Maple and Cherry thrown in. Will be straight Ash after tonight.
Welcome aboard Joe. Good to have you here. It is 7° here this morning, and my boiler is going through Ash and Pine.
Before I hit the sack last night it was 35 degrees, this morning it's 2 with a real feel of -19, it looks like Friday will be our coldest with a high of - 6 and a low of -21, real feel of -27.
I am out cutting wood right now. It's not bad while your in the truck! The wind is bad. I am cutting for a bit, then warming up in the truck. Then load. Almost too cold in the wind to cut.
