Yep. Single bachelor laundry question haha. I washed my hunting camo in the washer and forgot to put it in the dryer. Sat overnight and next day.

Now it stinks like mildew or mold. How do I get rid of that smell? (For those that don't know, you cannot use soap or anything with a scent). I used my regular scent less soap and no worky :(

Google fu says baking soda...gonna try that tonight. Other sites say vinegar and baking soda but I'm worried about the smell....will the vinegar smell be gone with the wash cycle?

Other suggestions? Help! Gotta get this stuff done today!

May have to wash them with detergent and then re-wash them again without or with the hunting soap?
If you're not going to wash them until tonight, leave them hang outside in the meantime. That could help a bit also.

I think the vinegar smell will be eliminated.
    What about Borax?

That's also an option per Google but I didn't know how scent less it is. Does it have a smell?

I would go with like an All Free and Clear detergent. Some scent but not bad. Than I would wash once or twice in either baking soda or your regular scent free soap.

Vinegar smell goes away pretty quick on hard surfaces but I have no idea about laundry. I would try baking soda. Borax is an abrasive. ..don't know if it will get rid of smell.

vinegar will be fine, in fact you may use it in lieu of "fabric softener." You might try hanging out in the sun for a while to help kill any mold or mildew and re-wash.

We've used vinegar in the rinse many times. You won't smell it.
It's not like you're dumping 5 gallons of it in the wash.
If you put it in the wash cycle, and nothing in the rinse, it'll be gone when the whole thing is done.
Option #2: Go buy more gear. I love helping other people spend their money.:D

Good! Ill throw some vinegar in the cart as well. BTW, we are talking about a $350 coat, $300 bibs, and hundreds of dollars of other assorted base layers, fleeces, etc. . I went thru tons of the cheap gear before I bit the bullet and bought the best of the best.
There will NOT be any more buying of gear. I'm already kicking myself in the rear for letting this happen.

I think staying downwind is WAY more important than hiding scent. Heck, I've had several does and a couple bucks walk in on me when I was upwind of them and they didn't seem to care. I'd just wash the cap with detergent like any of your other laundry. Deer's noses are so strong I really don't believe that any of the no scent stuff does any good. The carbon suits may help, but it's still pretty much impossible to mask your own human scent even if you do eliminate all perfumes from your clothing.

Round 1 in the wash now...baking soda, vinegar, and scent free detergent cocktail. Hope this works.

Round 1 was watered down. Some help but not gone. On round 2 with twice the concentration of cocktail.

I wonder if oxyclean is scented? Not sure if it works in cold water?
