Need a new washing machine

Well, we done gone and done it.
Stopped at the HD and went back and forth, up and down, and side to side trying to pick one. Started at the bottom end and ended up getting the biggest one LG makes.
5.7 cu ft, so that oughtta cut down on the loads, even if each one takes longer. Should help with the amount of laundry that needs doing now.
I think this thing makes coffee and croissants too, but I'll need to read up on that.
I finally just told my wife "if that's the one you want (even though I do 99.999999999% of the laundry), it's done".
So much for her buying the fugliest one. Supposed to show up next Wednesday.

 

Oh, top loader for sure.
There was no other consideration.

 

wildwest , our front loader is only about 8 years old. Started a load this morning, and it crapped out again after about 20 minutes.
I may just get the dolly and put this in the yard for a couple days. I'll just have to do the clothes at the laundromat until the new one shows up.
There's an ad in the paper for someone who'll gladly take this piece of poo away for free. He'll prolly get a few bucks for scrap. Works for me.
HD will haul it away, but if I can get it outta here, we can clean up the room for the new one before they even get here.
God only knows what might be lurking under the old one.

 

I did my first few runs of laundry last night with my new GE top loader with agitator. Wow, I went from 60 to 90 minutes time per load on the LG and Samsung, to 35 minutes on the new (old style design) washer. I forgot how fast the agitator machines are. I can now do close to three loads of laundry in the time it took to do one load on those modern machines. And the clothes are finally clean again!

 

We're really looking forward to not needing to run the load twice to finish. Hard to keep up with the laundry doing that.

 

Seriously consider buying the extended warranty. I can't stress this enough. After one repair, it pays for itself. And it's about $120, though I asked the salesman if he would discount it, so he knocked it down to $75.

 

When the load dies, it's usually gone through the wash cycle, so I'll mostly do a "rinse and spin", which is 18 minutes. Might not start until I leave it for a couple hours, sometimes longer. It's a complete crap shoot.
Other times, I have to choose a different type of cycle, then it might run through that cycle.....might not.
Very frustrating. Meanwhile, the laundry's piling up.
So, laundromat, here we come. Soon, won't need to do that.

The washer won't fit on the splitter, but it would prolly get to burnin' pretty gooder. hmmm

 

They dropped it off about 1.5 hours ago. The kid started a cycle that I thought was a test, but it ran for almost an hour.
I just put about 10 towels in this thing and it only filled it maybe 1/3 full. It's a LARGE machine.
We still can't run too much water into the system at once, but shouldn't be much of a problem once I get back on track with a "schedule'.
One load in this equals almost 2 in the old machine. It's pretty darn quiet too.
Oh, and there won't be any pics of washing machine destruction.....they took the old one.

 

I told myself I was gonna do this if I couldn't fix ours. Worth the same in scrap either way.
