After burning a little over a ton, I decided to take her out and give her a good cleaning today. Hands down, nothing beats compressed air to blow these thing out. One thing I noticed was how little ash was inside this thing but it was probably due to the LBM I gave it the other week. The only thing I didn't do was pull the combustion blower but I got it pretty good with the long flexible air gun that I have. I might wait until I burn at least a ton and a half next time before I give it a full cleaning again.

I have a hand truck for the stove and ramps to get it out of the house. I'm thankful the stove isn't heavier!!!

    Super clean,
I need to pull the pipe & clean the cat chamber out this summer.

I like having the ash fill the nooks & cracks around the bottom.
Fills in around the fire brick seams .
Shoveled mine out today too, but left lots of hot coals & got a new load burning . -2°

Cleaning Sparky today. This upcoming week is going to be chilly. Low teens and single digits. Doing it inside though!

Same here. Did a full cleaning including venting a week or 2 ago, so today will be firebox only and wont take but a few minutes after it cools enough

Yep, probably a good time for most people to give the stoves their first full cleaning this season.....I imagine most stoves have gone through either a ton, or close to it. Cold weather is on the way.

I still have a little left to go on my cleaning... Been working 12 hrs, or I would update my 1 ton burn, cleaning thread.

Moving a stove outside is a little tough for most, but if you can't? Hook the Leaf blower to it. The best way to clean a pellet stove is with compressed air. Put Leaf blower on outside and use compressed air from inside the house (no need to disconnect). This keeps you from moving the stove.

Steve, Bet she is burning good now? :)

Brilliant ! I hadn't thought of that but it sound like it is worth in. I set the leaf blower in place, and have a remote control on off switch. This would work well with your idea so I wouldn't be overdoing things with the leaf blower.

I was in the same boat today. I have some pellets that are kicking out alot of ash. I do not move that heavy beast, but it got a good overhaul today.

Just finished my second LBT for this season. Wasn't as dirty as the first time around but wanted to sneak it in while the temps are nice.

I also put a tach on the combustion blower while doing it.......it only turns at about 100 RPM for those interested :)
