Great day to have Drew Brees as your Fantasy Football QB and Brandin Cooks as one of your receivers. Too bad it was about the only good week!

Rode to my HOG meeting this morning. 40*, cloudy and dark out. Was 42* riding home and got rained on for about 5 miles of it too. But hey, I got to ride, so it was good. Naturally, the sun came out shortly afterwards and it started warming up.

Got my hopper extension installed on the P43. I had gotten the extension several weeks ago, installed it, but got a continuous smoky smell after the install, so immediately removed it until I could figure out something. Finally used RTV to back up the attached gasket, and around the corners (no gasket there) and screw holes. Gave it several hours to cure with the hopper open.

Started a crockpot full of Acorn squash, granny smith apples, purple onion, pineapple, breakfast sausage, a bit of lime juice and a bit of apple cider :stirpot:.

Just a bit ago, I did a test fire on the P43 to check out the hopper install. Got a strange smell, but even with the lights out and a flashlight couldn't find a leak. Finally realized that the stuff in the crockpot was finally getting to the point of starting to emit cooking food smells :startled::emb:.

Got back from a all day Ottawa trip. Settling in for a little bit of hockey before the baseball game. Some sneek peeks of the football on the fly. All this with some brews  Life is good:pete:

Enjoying our stove now. Needs more scrubbing, but it is functional. Circuit has a surge protector on it.

Your dog is looking like, "Where is that nice warm fire?"

Where did you get that black pipe for the OAK?

Did a reverse junk store run this afternoon after lunch. Was at Renys and got some yummies and 12 pounds of orange blossom honey so I can start a batch of mead this week likely Thursday when I will have the kitchen to myself, we then hit the Salvation Army Thrift shnop where the boss got a few books, then it was on to Goodwill where the boss passed on a bag full of cotton candy yarn and I found a CD and DVD to add to the collection sporting half off stickers. Now I might go down for a short nap before supper the girls are all scratched and in their coop.

My UPS contractor (not the brown truck guys) made this bad azz bottle for me. He makes the wine and his daughter does the etching.

Not for me. We let them blow down over the bank, ain't seen many come back. The rest either get mulched or raked and added to the compost piles. May not even bother doing that this fall, they may be there in the spring. As for right now half are down and half are still on the trees, oaks are slow droppers.

ETA: When we lived in the "big" city we had tons of maple leaves to clean out of the yard, no place for them to be blown to that didn't put them against a fence. Here they end up down over the bank, in the gully.
