Just some pictures of some nice drops by Mother Nature, I'm thinking some nice Sugar Maple in this bunch.
If I do, it will be these two. We have some nice Cherry down, on the same ridge but down from the Sugar Maple.
Looks like a good start. They would only be tripping hazards to the big one above. Is the one above hung up or is the crown keeping it up?
Sorry for not mentioning it in my post, these came down two or three years ago in some heavy winds in May.
If'n you're in NE ILLANOYZ......................have sharp saw, hard worker, will travel for wood and beer.
It will be nice to get the Sugar Maple in the stacks, I wish they were still standing but it's nice firewood.
It is a shame to see them down but they are one of the best in the stacks. Wish we had more SM around here, blessed with plenty of Oak & Cherry.
I took the 310 with a 16 inch bar with a chain I sharpened this morning to the two downed Sugar Maples and one top.
Nice work! I see the blaze orange in the Rhino......... do you have hunters nearby on any adjacent land?
Thanks W.S., I just get in a habit of wearing it in the woods, it's all our property for a long way but you always can get the jerk who thinks it's ok to hunt on private property.
