So far? I think so. We normally go through at least 1/3 cord, and maybe a 1/2 cord of Pine by the end of Oct, yet we have about 1/2 of that still in the shed. Not complaining at all. It would be nice and beneficial if we didn't burn our normal 5 cords this winter. El Nino? We'll be having 60's the next few days, and that means fewer and smaller fires.
Yep same here, I just posted this on another thread for next week around here. Edit: and I see you saw it lol Tuesday Sunny, with a high near 71. Tuesday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 48. Wednesday Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Wednesday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. Thursday Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Thursday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52
Weather says a few days in low 70's next week, mid 50's overnight, so NO fires here... Gives my stacks just a little longer to dry Mild now usually produces a mean turn in jan-feb tho around here.
Been real mild here too. Had a small fire going in both stoves last night. Wasn't bad late afternoon/early evening but by dinner time it was getting a bit toasty. By bed time the wide and I were running around nekkid and the poor dogs had their noses stuck out under the garage door getting cold air.
Just make sure you bride doesn't see you calling her wide....lol.....gotta love typing errors, I get'm all the time
I think everyone is having mild weather. Gotta enjoy it while we can. More time to spend outdoors and gather more wood . This weather is good for those folks that have green wood , gives them some time for it to dry a little more.i went out this morning at 7am looked at my neighbors chimney a lot of smoke, go out at 8 am still a lot of smoke, all the wet wood he has he's gotta burn at least 6 pcs to get some of the other wood to burn ,
Mild here as well. Had a few fires the past couple days. Headed to mid 60s and possibly near 70 on Tues. Then back to 40s at the end of the week. It will be a nice couple days before the cold temps start to kick in. Weekends have been rainy or busy here so haven't got much wood cut at all yet this fall. Hope to get a few trees down in November..... Busting butt last year has me taking it easy this year. Spending more time hunting and fishing since I didn't do much of that last year. My cord count is at 10 +/- not counting this years wood. So not feeling as compelled to cut like a mad man like last year!
Did you put that count to the "cord thread" yet? There's how much wood on The FHC ? Over 1,000 cord ? ? | Firewood Hoarders Club
With highs in the low 60's coming up for mon, tue, wed, I just may have to cut the grass again! Can't ever remember cutting in the month of nov! Have yet to start the OWB; no complaints here about the weather.
I vote for it staying mild 'til just before Christmas. Wouldn't bother me at all. Lots of rain here lately.
The furnace has been running a lot here, but don't have much choice. Even the small fires bake us in here. Oil prices are down, so running the furnace doesn't bother me and that means less wood to cut next year. The thing I like most about this weather is that it's great for cutting and splitting or any outside work that was too hot to do 2 months ago.
We might be, but I dont remember burning before Halloween last year... But I've ate and slept since then too...
