Given papadave 's recent misfortune, I put up some motion activated LEDS-they glow dim dusk to dawn but kick out pretty good light when activated, will help out on those late winter night trips to the shed too
http://www.amazon.com/InaRock-Outdo...&qid=1446250058&sr=8-1&keywords=inarock+8+led They are solar and have 8 LED's in each-need to face south for optimal brightness
Awesome shed! Those lights will be helpful pulling from the shed and security. Im gonna check them out as well.
Thank you sir-I've been considering it a while now, just pulled the trigger with the time change looming and you know, I stalk the shed sometimes at night, just smelling the wonder of our obsession...
If I could post pics of proprietary electrical equipment, I'd swamp the site! Didn't get home til after 5 pm, started looking into a coworker's 2010 455... Chain don't stay tight. Putting in a new tensioner screw and such requires that little odd shaped plastic guide at the end of the screw shaft be installed in the correct orientation... That's the 1st thing I found.... No woodin' today... Tomorrow, Lord willing.
K buddy, guess you didnt get that half day off. I was rootin' for ya. Good luck and stay safe tomorrow, I'll be up a tree for a change instead of ripping one up.
Yeah... No chance I was gonna win the boss over after I finished two jobs earlier than he though thought I would! Hey Ash, kill some meat tomorrow, sir!
Not so great pics but shown full on and the difference between dim and bright-I like them but we'll see how long they last
That is a fine looking wood shed. How much does it hold? What are the dimensions if you don't mind. I'm still in the hunt for my new setup.
Thank you-it is 4x40, expanded metal flooring and shadow boarded ends, faces south and the prevailing wind is from the west...each bay, double row stacked 6' high is 1 cord, I throw uglies in btwn the stacks to 3' so stuffed full it holds 6 cords---
Once I figure out if the wood stove works in the living room which I am sure it will, I have to come up with storage of 12-16 cords. Roughly 4 cord per year.
Woodchuck the first two pics were at daybreak this morning, they burn all night and they went out about 5 min after I took pic-It is important to let them fully charge before burning them-they have a keyhole switch which you insert a little pin to turn them on before they will accept charge-Best to put them up and turn on first thing in the morning on a day you expect full sun-so far so good
Thats about what I burn-the rest of my hoard is up the field (See "Last cutting til mid-December" thread from yesterday)
Great idea! Look awesome! I need some here, Solar probably not work here thru winter but I have plenty of darkness where they'd come in handy Just might dig in a power line to the wood shed & fire pit next year. Like the motion light idea too
Sounds like the better plan bogydave solar lights would be screaming for juice there I would imagine-nothing like wired anyway but I get a lot of sun so giving them a try-take care my Mountaineer friend
