    The dog is now doing great and is up for adoption the man has been charged awaiting trial.
    I have been watching this since April, all reports say this dog has never exhibited any aggressive tendencies, why the guy shot the dog I don't know but I think he's lying about the dog killing another dog.
    It's just hard for me to believe people could do stuff like this

    "IF" the dog killed another, there are humane ways to deal with it. If the guy was lying, he deserves to get his azz kicked and thrown in jail.

    There was a story on our local news about a dog getting shot in the head with an arrow earlier in the week. It was a pit-mix but seemed non-aggressive.

    If they would do that to a animal, they would probably do it to another human, as well.............

    That is so sad, such a sweet dog....That person should be turned loose amoung us and we could teach him a lesson....

    We had a shed demo'd recently at the house we bought a few years ago. Sadly, we found a mummified dog under it. Couple shots to the head. I fear the guy did not do it correctly and that's how the dog ended up under the shed to be found many years later. That is cruel in my mind. OMG, either do it right or take it to vet for euthanasia!!

    If there isn't another dog then he's worse than a creep. If he's telling the truth then he handled the situation very poorly.

    I don't trust anyone who is mean to animals, and esp. those mean to dogs. I used to read a lot of those animal abuse stories, but now am backing off because I get so upset. Here is a good story, One of my fellow VietNam PTSD buddies lost his dog due to natural causes. He didn't think he would ever get another because of the pain of the loss. But, 4 months has passed and he has now adopted an 8 yr old orphan dog. He is happy again.

    Many years ago, my Dad had a dog that was a real nasty critter. No one could come onto the property but my father. But, that made a good watchdog.
    In the past, Dad would take him to the Vet, the dog would get all spazzed out and the Vet would have to come out to the car to give the dog his shots--while my Dad held the dog and kept him from biting the Vet. Years later, the dog was getting on, and was having health problems. It was time. he asked the Vet if he could come out and do the deed, but the vet said no. My Dad couldn't bear to have the dog get all worked up just to be euthanized, so he took him in the field with his shotgun, told him to sit, and placed the muzzle against the back of his head. Unfortunately, dad had some tears in his eyes, and missed the mark--the dog began to yelp and scream, and Dad had to shakily reload to shoot him again.
    He never got over that, and never got another dog again.

    Now imagine you've come home to find one of your dogs dead being nawd one by the other one. You assume it killed it. Don't want to take a chance of it attacking someone else's pet or worse their kids. You can't afford to have a vet euthanize him and all you have is a crossbow.....
