Wind is still blowing with rain, expected to continue into the night. From the yard, only a few branches down, but nothing significant. Anything new up your way thewoodlands? Gasifier ?
Seems the bulk of it stayed well inland, western pa, on up into the northeastern interior. Actually a warm breeze right now.
No wind here. Rain, rain, rain. Perfect. I managed in the late afternoon to get a couple of "small" fires going.
Mega rain here all day. Sporatic wind with a few power outages in the area today. Supposed to get a good blast of rain the wee hours of the a.m................All in all not bad here.
Haven't checked the rain gauge yet but we got quite a bit of rain overnight then off and on today. Went to the city today and one time it rained quite hard and got windy but it did not last that long. They have really toned down on the forecast for wind. Looks like it may be a no-show. Was supposed to start this afternoon but it appears the cold front will come in much later than expected as that low looks like it stalled around Duluth.
Just looked @ our radar and it looks like you guys will soon be out of the bulk of it...........................
We lost power yesterday from 2 - 2:30 pm and we lost it early this morning but we lost cable at 4:30 pm yesterday until this morning at 4:00 am. We only had one fire yesterday because of the winds, we're at 57 degrees this morning for outside temps. I see we're in for more high winds this afternoon.
We are in the 50-60 along the southern coast of RI, and I can tell you last night it was extremely windy. Thankfully we took down all of the trees that could fall on the house 5 years ago.
They called for high winds for us yesterday, but we didn't get them. Looks like we will get them this afternoon though.
We could get more high winds today. GUSTY WINDS THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS THE NORTH COUNTRY... EXPECT GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS ACROSS NORTHERN NEW YORK AND VERMONT THIS AFTERNOON. WIND GUSTS WILL BE IN THE 40 TO 45 MPH RANGE ACROSS THE SAINT LAWRENCE VALLEY AND NORTHERN ADIRONDACKS OF NEW YORK WITH A FEW GUSTS POTENTIALLY REACHING 50 MPH. OVER THE CHAMPLAIN VALLEY AND REMAINDER OF VERMONT THIS AFTERNOON...WIND GUSTS WILL REACH THE 30 TO 40 MPH RANGE. WIND GUSTS OF THESE MAGNITUDES...ESPECIALLY ACROSS NORTHERN NEW YORK...WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO TAKE DOWN POWER LINES...TREES...OR TREE LIMBS. AS A RESULT...INTERRUPTIONS IN POWER AND COMMUNICATION SOURCES MAY OCCUR. IN ADDITION...TRAVEL COULD BE IMPACTED WITH ANY DOWNED TREES OR POWER LINES ON ROADWAYS.
It rained like a bastad earlier. Now it's just windy as all heck. Rain has been spotty with a bit of thunder and lighting mixed in.It's rather warm at 66.
