Is that huntable country your in? No wonder you can always get a moose!!!

Now you know how to bait them...just drop a tree and come back an hour later and wait.

    Yea, open to hunting
I put in for cow tags for that area, not got drawn yet

Having the atv trails make it easy for others to drive to also.
But I think it would be a good area to hunt.
    There's a couple rubs

Yea great weather day for this time of the year. Partly sunny, 45°, little breeze

We're both are getting wood cutting chores done before winter

Couple more loads should do it for me.
    Then splitting & stacking

Weather to turn tomorrow, forecast is for rain :(
Then turn colder Friday & maybe ice the road in ,
could be last load of the year tomorrow , if I go , :(

    Yep, already raining here now.
I like spring too and I will do it in the summer but, Fall is my favorite time to process wood,
don't much care for playing around out in the cold though

Yeah I like cutting in the bush when its cool as well. Early spring as soon as the snow lets lets go and fall before its to cold. I dont mind a bit of cold and snow but as soon as the fingers get cold Im done. If its 5 below freezing and its snowing Im ok with that. As long as Im working and dont stop I can stay pretty warm in a sweat shirt.

Yeah thats a bummer isnt it? I get out cutting as soon as the snows let me into the back country and then like you Im shut out by winters deep snows. I was out scouting today a bit before work and may go out one more time but not sure. Its hard to put the saw away for the winter. Nice mountain pics. I notice that its looking for you like there is a good solid snow cover up high where it isnt melting much. Signs that it will be dropping to the bottom soon. Looking like a cold front coming after Halloween for us in the Rockies. No doubt it will be much more acute for you up there.

Ok no wonder you only need a few more loads!!

When I read that at first I saw the tiny ATV trailer and was thinking...no way thats all he needs!!

This I assume is public land your cutting on? They allow you to cut living standing trees in alaska? Is this state or Fed land? How much is a permit and what are the restrictions?
