Thanks! I should see what I have for pics of other work my dad has done. He's built some really beautiful fireplaces and hearths. It would be some real eye candy for the guys here.

So got my goodies from Fahrenheit already. I can't believe how fast they got here.

Can't figure out how the heck the side baffles are supposed to fit though. Any pics from the 50F guys would be greatly appreciated. When I get home from the hunt I'll install everything and I'll take some pics showing the new parts for better airflow.

I will take pics tomorrow. The install on the sides. Screws go in from outside the firebox. The angle goes UP to the back of the firebox.

That'd be great. I thought they must go in that way, but can't seem to make them work. Pictures would be appreciated.

I need to clean my furnace to get a better pic inside, but the plates are on an angle (30° or so).

The plates come shipped almost flat.

You need to make the bend yourself.
    1445044128437.jpg

Once bent, the mounting side sits flush and vertical against the inside if the firebox, and then they are angled up. But the back should touch the back of the firebox. These are meant to catch all ash, so no as drops behind or beside the pot.

Here is where the mounting holes are.
And the bottom arrow points to the bottom deflector. I flipped mine and it helps a lot. Rather than shoot the air towards the door, to boucle back up. This way, the air is pushed up and across the front of the firebox. It's easier on the blower and provides a more laminar flow from the bottom to the top of the furnace where the other air from the heat exchange tubes is mixed and then shot up the plenum.

You have to bend the bottom of the door in the inside to accommodate for flipping that bottom air deflector. A Cresent wrench works great to bend it. Just tighten onto that bottom lip and bend. Move over a 1/2", then bend, 1/2", bend, etc. Until the door closes.

You bet. One of the guys in the camp shot a cow around 8:00 am opening morning. There was a big bull with her but he couldn't get shooting at it.

I'm a little late to the party but everything looks great. I want to add the OAK this year to mine and see what difference it makes but made a bunch of house improvements this year so I hope they help seal up the house better this winter to help. DexterDay and the crew are a great source for everything. Good group of guys and gals.

I'm looking forward to see how those improvements stack up. Me and Mrs. Dex need to get out your way and grab some more "test bags" ;)

I think this winter is a test year for the multi fuels I can get. I will save you a bag as I get them. Found 3 more brands of pellets up at camp this weekend. Nothing great just different types around Clarion. Still very excited to try out the cherry pits. Don't know if they will smell good or just stink up the neighborhood.

PS took a 10' x 20' x 2' (tarped)trailer load of split/ stacked/ 4yr aged beech out of the camp this weekend. Took a lot less time to load it in the trailer than it did to cut and stack.

Cherry pits are on my radar but sources are very slim. Doing my deep cleaning as we speak and the impeller upgrade along with the hole pluggings. Graphite sprayed the burnpot assembly and waiting for my stainless steel upper plate. Congrats on the cow shooting.

    Hey Chris,

No worries, you aren't late to the party. Your thoughts and opinions are always welcome. Keep me posted on the OAK install, always curious to see how different installs work for people.

I hear you on sealing up the house. My house is brutal. It was built back in the 50 and is only 2x4 construction so the insulation is crap. Biggest thing I did other than windows was put the foam gaskets in all the exterior wall electrical boxes.

You are correct. The guys here are A1 and the help they have provided has been awesome.

Thanks. A lot of guys I've talked to never got anything.

Let me know if you find cherry pits and try then out.

Also let me know how the graphite coating on the burn pot goes. I'm going to be doing my new impeller, but never thought about doing the burn pot.

Heading down to work on the furnace tonight. Probably will have some pics as I install the goodies I got in the mail before I left for hunting.

Chris is my Brother in law and one heck of a guy. He bought his Fahrenheit after seeing mine and when my dealer offered up his demo/floor unit.

I couldn't ask for a better guy to share pellet talk with. Or beer talk. Or chainsaw talk.. Or hunting talk... Or..... :)
