Yea I wish I had my father in laws tools. He was a master ASE mechanic. Had all those your talking about. I was in heaven when I went to his shop to work on my stuff. All the right tools!!! I have some of his now. But not many. I have some split ring pliers he had and just a fee others.
I was first gonna saw it was worth scrap...but felt I would let you feel optimistic , and hope for the $5 !
Today's buy, came with a plastic tool box and some smalls I did not dig out of the tray. Wanted the vintage Indestro ratchet, ended up buying the whole box for $20. Ended up with 56 Craftsman sockets, 2 Craftsman extensions, 2 Craftsman wrenches (all USA), Craftsman Allen wrenches, 34 other sockets and the rest of the stuff pictured.
Today's score, all this came in the weathered Craftsman box. Was marked at $25 and I was told make an offer, got it for $15 out the door.
Is this all from the same shop? I need to go shopping with you! I would have more than I needed in no time!
No, this is a different one than where I have bought the others. Had a mix of Craftsman, Kobalt, Husky, Gearwrench and other stuff. I need to sell the culls to recoup some of my money.
I am no tool snob! Most of what I have n use is from Harbor freight. I can't afford the name brand stuff. And honestly until it busts it all works. The new HF stuff is better than what they made 5-10 years ago.
I went to Hazard Fraught today to get some socket rails, was putting the second socket on and the tang broke. I am going to take them back and use Ziplock bags.
I have had really good luck with stuff. The tolerance on the wrenches is better than other china stuff. There is some bad stuff its not snap on or mac or matco but for what I pay I am happy
Rails are my preferred method unles you go foam insert. I have a chit ton of the plastic rails from Craftsman. Have held up for over 15 years now.
