Cleaned convection blower really good, just removed the carrousel and also the combustion motor. My friend tells me the comb motor looks and feels good.
That screen looks good. Just remember in the spring to put some duct tape over it to keeps bugs/wasps/etc out until fall.
BTW, can't tell by the pic, but is that comb. motor ball bearing?...........................never mind, I see that it is in the other pic. Are you planning on removing the convection blower housing? Those motors usually have oiling ports on them.
No, I didn't have a gasket, maybe next time? just removed the carousel and cleaned really nice. I didn't have a gasket.
Most of the time, the gasket on the convection blower is just a flat braided gasket similar to the door gasket.....it doesn't need to be replaced unless torn. I removed my conv. blower from both of my previous stoves quite a few times and never had to replace it. From what I see in your pics, it's the typical 4 screws to remove it.....would be great to be able to throw 3-4 drops of oil in the oiling ports before the season starts.
Not too late. Just take that side panel off after stove cools and remove the blower. 3 in 1 oil will do in a pinch (any 20w NON DETERGENT oil will work...that means NOT car engine oil), but their blue can oil is meant just for elect. motors and is the preferred one.
