Huskee 22 Seized

Right now Northern Tool has a good price on the 208cc Chonda engines at about 100 bucks. Not sure if that engine would work for you.

 

The BS on the 22 ton Huskee is not a standard, off the shelf engine. I don't recall exactly what the differences are, but a standard engine would require some modification.

 

I just bought the Briggs 190 cc exact same engine. I hear they run great...with oil.

 

I would of got the $99 engine from harbor freight! There a honda copy and darn good!

 

If something ever happens to my Briggs I will be putting one of the Predators from Harbor Freight on it. I have one on my Troy Bilt Tiller and it is the best small engine I have ever used.

 

My buddy put one on his splitter. We both use it. It was when they were blue. Not sure if they were predator then? Had it on there like 4 years. Starts first or second pull after sitting for months....assuming you remember to turn the ignition on before you start yanking !!!

 

I was going to recommend a Predator or a Honda.

You should put an hour meter on it.

 

I always check the oil in my saws before I use them........

 

Hard to 'like' a story like that. But at least it's a good example of a bad business.

 

Since I'm paying 50% of the cost, I just went with the exact same engine to make the mounting foolproof. I could have bought a Harbor Freight and saved a few bucks, but I chose the easier path.

 

I missed it. Who is paying the other half. I dont feel like going through all of the posts? Is this a co owned unit?

 

Did you buy the splitter , from privet owner or what?

I bought the splitter with a friend who burns wood at his home. Each paid a little over $500 new. So, when we have any expense, it's split 50/50.

New engine cost me $91

 

So, as an update....

I bought what I thought was the correct engine, but bought a 25mm crankshaft instead of 7/8".
Inquired with Amazon, and they're letting me keep the one I bought and did a full refund on a $182 engine as it's non-returnable. Craigslisting that puppy for sure.

Re-ordered the Briggs engine and the coupler actually fits since I bought the right one. Installing on log splitter, with oil for sure in 2 hours. Hopefully, will be splitting some ash tonight. :stacke:

They told you to keep a $180 engine and refunded you but there having me return $25 worth of LED strip lights? Or some other thing I bought awhile back that cost literally $5!!! And I have prime!

 

yes. i got to keep the engine.

guys..i'm in a really bad way with this situation. i put the coupler on and mounted the new engine. i put oil in the new engine and the rope is very hard to pull. when i have the control lever in neutral...the wedge does not move when pulling the cord. when the ram lever is engaged either forward or back, the wedge moves slowly when pulling the cord.

is the pump bad? i'm lost as the engine cord is very hard to pull over...unlike when the splitter was new.

HELP!!!
