Were 3 there this AM eating the birch tree tops I just fell/ Then later in the day they came back. Cow & calf when I first got there this AM Around 1 PM, moose came back. Can see the fresh cut stumps & the boundary ribbon on the tree, This one didn't want to leave, ears laid back is aggressive signal. I talked to it & showed it my thumb. It relaxed, then left, too noisy LOL Started loading up
Muddy trail/road in, several mud puddles, were iced over this AM Warmed up to mid 44° Got another load Off load area, long shadow
Dang dave, your tall! Awesome pics as always bud. Yea those ears pinned back are a bad sign. Glad she didn't charge you.
The deer and moose really love those tree tops, the sound of a saw is nothing but a dinner bell bringing them in, especially in the dead of winter with deep snow.
25° this AM, heavy frost. Gearing up to head out soon. Adding 1 more layer of clothing. The trail will be frozen hard for most of the day. Slept in to 8:15, sun will be up in just over an hour, gotta get moving
bogydave , how many more loads do you plan to get? As much as possible, or will you stop when you have another years supply?
I don't say much on your threads brother, but wanted you to know I'll never tire of looking at your pics
Need 5 - 6 more full loads. (figure 3/4 to 7/8 cord per load) if my body & weather hold out I try to get 9 cord & net about 8 after culls & dried for a year in the seasoning stack.
But the real question Dave is, will that saw work to call in the big bulls? Do you take the saw to moose camp?
