Everyone else pretty much used up all the good adjectives to describe your pics, I'll just go with ditto to all the above. Thanks!

For sure the daylight hours are getting shorter fast. Of course, much faster up there. Good to see you out cutting wood Dave. Only bad thing is the extra muscle you might gain will be extra weight on that bicycle, but you are no doubt strong enough it won't bother anyway.

We had some good weather for working in woods and hunting but it ended quickly. Yesterday we hit 70 and it is 73 right now. The bugs are terrible. They will keep me out of the tree stand tonight because they bite and stink. They are the little bugs that look like lady bugs but are the Asian bsturds. Every October they get bad. They are all over the house and just a short time ago I was out finishing things so I could go hunting but because they were all over me and all over everything, I put aside the idea of hunting tonight. Supposed to be in high 60's again tomorrow then in the 50's the rest of the week. Forecast says warm the rest of October and November with a few cool spells.

I can't believe you still have bugs, we really haven't seen anything in a while. Maybe an occasional house fly.

Just amazing. I hope to get to Alaska at some point in my life. Then again, I want to move to NH or Maine, and that has yet to happen.

Looks like your trailer is taken up mainly by the 4-wheeler. Are you only able to load your truck? Or do you stage and come back with the truck and the trailer later?

    All in the trailer
7 rows + some in the back around the trailer.
    17" rounds, 26" sides 6'9" wide
Full load is a cord of heavy wet birch .Guess 5,000 lbs , maybe more.

Nice haul and pictures bogydave, my back hurts just looking at all that heavy birch. Its good that you have it in your area. We dont have much of it here but its the highest native btu wood I can find with larch being a close second. What is your other species you burn? Spruce?
