I am placing an order with Don, and would appreciate your suggestions :)

Here, I do not have a dealer or any big box stores, all parts will be by mail......So I would prefer to be prepared rather than end up in a hotel room til the parts arrive if something goes out......

Help me pick and choose and what am I missing?

    ignitor
    burn pot gasket
    exhaust clean out gasket
    door gasket
    blower assy
    vacuum switch

    Thanks!

With that many parts, another stove might be cheaper:whistle: Just make sure to lubricate all what's needed and you might not need anything for a long time. But then again you do run your stove 365 days/year. If you buy a gasket sheet, it might cover most gaskets. Train some hamsters to turn a cage/rubberband in case you need a back-up plan:yes:

Ignitor is the prob the most important. Exhaust gaskets can be had almost anywhere and anytime. The blowers and motors get expensive.. If you rely on it as a sole source of heat (we know you burn wood) then having all replacements are nice. But motors, blowers, etc get pricey.

I will be buying a spare ignitor myself. But with wood and a pellet furnace? I will order other major parts as they fail.

Seriously though, I would just ask Don - he sees a lot of stoves, and can help w/ what you might want to stock,

+1 on Ignitor, our's is original to the stove, that's on the list here. (But if it failed some starter gel (or even lighter fluid) and hand-priming the pot would do in a pinch.) Also looking at the burn pot, that may be on the 6-12 month replacement list here.

If don2222 stocks the parts I wouldn't have any in advance. Worst case is you get the part you need in a couple of days. Most of your parts will last year's except the igniter. But I am sure you can manually light the stove if necessary.

Some Drolet stoves like the Eco-35 model I recently worked on use the SBI Combex blower which is the combination exhaust blower and positive draft blower!

Some parts are not very common such as the control panel and Combex blower and are shipped from the US warehouse in Michigan so having those as spares would save a lot of time. Even having an igniter can save time if it burns out on a cold winter night on Friday so shipping can take quite a few days!

I'm sure WWW could get the stove lit if the igniter failed but with you running the stove all the time year round, it's not like the igniter gets used much anyway, does it? I would think it would last a while.

How might one manually light? Propane bottle torch? Super Cedar?

Super Cedar would work excellent, lots of box stores sell Starter Gel, just mix a tablespoon or so to 1/2 cup pellets, mix well, and ignite / press start, others have said hand-sanitizer works as well as Starter Gel at a fraction of the cost on the 'other' forum.. Like Purell.
