Sorry getting back. We had limited access. Had to use my cell phone with one of those back up battery sticks. We had no idea about how long the power would be off. Very hard getting out of this dead end road with that trees bent over it on the steep grade part. I called one of the select men to question how to get it removed, but got no where. It stayed there for two days. Finally some cut the tops off. I am not physically able to do that. Power was restored late afternoon on Christmas Day. The house was very cold, but now is warming back up. I had to sit up in a chair at night because the bpap machine I use to breath when laying down requires power. (Severe obstructive apnea). After two days I am exhausted. Now looking to by some back up battery pack.
Thanks Hope all is well with you.......

All is well here Saves. Hope all is well at your place. Great to hear you have power back. The ice can be a real P.I.A. Looks like your area was hit real hard. You okay man?

I'll be ok if I can get rested up and don't do something stupid. You know how it is when you see things that need attention. I am so grateful for my family and friends. Looks like the snow may have stopped and we still have power. Forecast is for more weekend snow then arctic air. Yea. (Not).

Well today I hope to get some work done at the camp. I have a few trees I need to take down that will add some wood to my supply for next year. Some standing dead Pine that needs to come down anyway and a Maple that is too close for comfort to the camp. (The second one that I have not taken down yet. I was worried about this the whole time this last ice storm hit us.) I really hate to cut the Maples down, they provide such nice shade, but they were/are just to close to the camp and power line to the camp. Oh well. They will provide some nice firewood. We can all hang down there off and on today and eat breakfast and lunch down there. I am enjoying my vacation. Working when I want and relaxing when I want. I actually finally spent 2.5 hours cleaning my garage and bench off the other day! Wow! That has only been going to happen for the last 3 months! So much nicer! Also time to walk around the trail on the property with the pole saw. See how much is down from the storm. And get anything cut and moved out of the way.

I am currently sitting next to a window at the house and looking at a large White Pine that is close to the house. The wind is blowing a bit and the snow/ice combination is breaking up and falling off of the tree. Slowly but surely. This is good news!

Finishing my coffee and stoking the stove. Going to take a shower and jump in the SUV with my daughter and future SIL and back to Brooklyn with them. I'll be home late this afternoon, or (hopefully) by early evening.

    We'll stop for breakfast.

Gonna spend the morning sledding at my cousins place with all the kids. Should be a fairly large group and fun.

Wife and I watch a movie last night called Elysium. Not bad. I'd say a 6 or 7 on a scale of 1-10.

Hmm was thinking of that one for tonight. Maybe RIPD or Superman instead. Probably getting Epic for the 10 year old (looks pretty good to me as well ;)) .

Epic is good. Took our kids to theatre to see that and they have since watched it at home.
