In what tiny amount of spare time I can muster up the past several weeks, I've been carving pumpkins out of some Norway spruce and blue spruce logs I've harvested from jobs. Since its the harvest season I thought I'd share them with you guys......enjoy..

Definitely won't go rotten over the season. Looking very nice. Did you use a spray paint or brush it on?

WW, some of my older ones were spray painted. My newest version is done with an orange water-based wood dye. I water the dye down about 50-50, and I burned the pumpkins some with a torch before dying them. They look fantastic that way IMO.

Yes, I thought the burning really added a nice depth to them and the wood dye lets the grain of the wood show up more.

Those look great, if that is the front of your home it looks fantastic! Very inviting (except that the witch is in, and all.)

Yep that's our front porch. My wife does a great job decorating inside and out. She's got a great eye for it.

And yes, she's the "witch". But a GOOD witch.....lol

I've got some Thompson's deck stain that was supposed to be "Cedar", but when I put it on some fencing, it was orange. Would work well for this.

I NEARLY bought that stuff Dave. But the stuff I ended up buying is water-based, easy to mix and clean up. ..
