Answered a C/L ad on the other side of town, got me 7 24" dia B/L rounds and a bunch of Holly rounds. was a easy pick, pulled up on the lawn and loaded up with the Tommy Lift According to the btu charts Holly is a tad higher in btu's than the B/L
Yes, You have probably seen the holly leaves / berries around Xmas time. they grow on both bush and tree form and can get quite large around here
Oh, ebony and holly is one of my fav wood working combos! Good holly lumber is snow white, great combo with black ebony.
That black locust can be tough on the chains - you getting any use out of that sharpener? Nice haul!!
All my chains were sharp when I got the Granberg from you and I have not been doing much cutting lately. I am going to have to noodle those B/L rounds so I am sure I am going to need to sharpen the chain when I am done with them and put the Granberg to use
so looking at the C/L posting again they are calling it Honey Locust. I know we have B/L here but not sure about H/L and I have not seen enough of either one to tell the difference orig posting Free Wood!!!! (Everett) Free Wood!!!! You will know if you have typical honey locust. It is hard to get to the wood past all of the thorns unless you have a "thornless" ornamental variety. On a live tree you will see thorns growing on thorns until it is hard to see the bark.
