Our neighbor has a house kind of like that one, with an external brick chimney on the side. Don't know what kind of stove they have. I assume it's an old slammer like the one that was here when we moved in. I know they burn wood, but don't know how much. The thing is, I've never seen them clean the chimney in the 5 or so years they've lived there.
Ding,Ding Family members told firefighters they had put out the fire in the fireplace, then heard some crackling before the flames climbed up the side of the home.
I don't see any remnants of a chimney? wonder if it was a ZC gas stove that someone tried to burn wood in?
I did not know what a slammer was until we moved into this house. I doubt the chimney had been cleaned in the last 25 years!
I agree. I also agree with different departments helping but they have gone just like government; overboard.
Small town I'm guessing? The volunteer fire department guys get a little over excited for a house fire. Get to drive the trucks fast and turn on the lights & sirens if you get my drift. We had a couple volunteers across the mountain torching abandoned buildings so they could be the first ones on scene - took about 3 fires before they figured it out
Kinda assumed that, but the title was leading...and kinda left me hanging, couldn't take it, inquiring minds wanna know, so I had to ask!
That is what I was trying to figure out. No sign of the chimney, not even laying on the ground. I would think if it was masonry or class A there would be visible somewhere.
