All the kitty kibble you want. Also as part of the job there is warm from the dryer towels to play in or on. So smoke doesn't worry about her not getting to be a mouser, she has a collection of toy mice and some pipe cleaners that she chases all over the house and when she kills one she places it beside the bed or in a slipper.

Looks like she is taking her job seriously.

I've only had a couple cats that got silly over catnip. which reminds me, I have 1 of those kitties now and he hasn't had any in a while. I'll have to cure that tonight.

    Cute critters !!!!

At our house I often say after I leave this mortal coil I want to come back as one of my wife's fur babies.

Wanted to stop and check things out over the weekend but the house had other plans for me. I wanted to get the living room complete for painting so I just had to get drywall over a hole in the living room corner where a built in used to be. Simply knock out some of the drywall/plaster combo'd wall (living room side) to the next stud and fit a piece in right? So I'm hacking away at the stuff and the stud I find is not flat and all screwy, no way to attach drywall to it. Securely anyway. Well long story short I ended removing all the plaster on the opposite side of the wall because it was apparent said wall (load bearing no less) needed an overhaul.

Lots of scrap wood in here ....

Oh ya... Only two studs are actually holding up the whole carrier beam. The others just flop around. N0 wonder it measured almost an inch down from the right side. And how about that header?

So I programmed the replicator to create a some new framing. Much better.

    btw...
18 degrees this morning! It's a little colder up here in the hills.

The house I currently live in is just like that wall!! Depression era do it yourself owner on the additions, everything was constructed from scrap. Interesting journey for sure!!

Oak hardwood floors , french doors , double hung 6 pane glass windows , insulate the exterior walls then build a wall out of scrap wood? Maybe they got to that wall and the market crashed?
It is cool to see the different construction methods around the house for sure. The master is real 2x4 rough cut framing. The exterior wall that is exposed in the living room is made of 4" x 8' x 14" post and beam. Impressive and original to the house I believe.

I feel your pain. We did that right down to the studs, all the floor, all ceilings and every room. Even changed out some windows. upload_2015-10-19_19-43-55.png upload_2015-10-19_19-55-57.png

Tearing out sheetrock at my place I have found walls with studs that lead nowhere; kind of like a bridge to nowhere - literally not even close to touching anything above them (and evident they never had). Oh, and empty beer cans inside the wall. The outside plywood that didn't go all the way up so the top 8-9" of the walls were exposed directly in the eaves (try scabbing in plywood between every beam, lots of fun especially when no two measurements are even remotely alike). And another of my personal favorites, the 32"w x 86"h wall that backed the shower - it had 27 pieces of sheetrock (okay, two pieces weren't sheetrock but some sort of paneling) all mudded/taped together.

Must have been working for himself. Just think of the time spent putting in the taping and mud. When we did our do over, I thought that some of the studs etc would be repurposed but that didn't happen. It all went right out and trucked off to the landfill. Ended up being a total gut. All the wires, pipes, floors, ceilings, fixtures, insulation etc. Only the exterior wall was left. They even took the heating system and chimney out. Everything that went back in was done to codes. Son said they ran into black mold when they started so that is why the gut was so extensive.
