Somebody got me a subscription to Northern Woodlands magazine! So now I might have half-a clue what I'm shredding. Wood ID, here I come!

So can we start guessing who we had? I am pretty sure I have mine named. Being hand delivered and all ;) (What a good dude!)

Had this really nice gift show up at the door.

After reading about these things here, and watching my pro-chimney guy use one, I was considering buying one for myself.

    Thanks to my Secret Santa.

That looks great! If I have to replace my LintEater, I would give this a whirl as the Linteater has trouble getting around my 90 deg and this looks like it would do that easily

The soot eater head has a ball to help with angles, where the lint eater doesn't.

With that said, my lint eater goes down all the stoves I clean. Including the 3" systems. I just trimmed about 33% of the longest bristles. Makes cleaning a snap.

Cleaned my horribly blocked flue tile with the sooteater this summer. Did a good job for what I paid for it. Knocked 98% of the creosote off I bet and good for another year.

The rods don't swap as easy as I'd like but sitting precariously up on a chimney 25 ft up nothing is as easy as on the ground.

Well then, there ya go. I guess it would be a 2 step process with either unit. Not a big deal for that.

I'm happy to see that the Secret Santa idea was successful. I'm truly impressed with the wide array of gifts that people came up with. A thank you goes out to everyone who participated and a thank you to Scotty and the rest of the site staff for allowing me to set it up.

I'm looking forwards to next year.
