I work at a major auto auction here in NY. If you know of anyone that has a code scanner, it might be wise to bring it and see if the truck has any "unseen" issues. Don't know if the auction you're going to has any "arbitration" policies or you're buying "as is". I'm guessing "as is".

If he's willing to take a look or help out w/ the electrical, that would be cool and $$$ saving, even if you get one side of the house setup for emergency power needs w/ the generator on-hand.

More than a few neighbors have Generac 10k+ / whole house units here - they run on LP or Natural Gas, weekly auto-run / test, auto power-transfer, no hooking up cables, etc.. Nice units.

That was a short lived hope. Actually started where I was hoping but a couple of people bid it over BB trade-in or even private sale value . I'm sure it went to a dealer. Wonder if that heater issue is going to surprise them though - you pretty much have to tear out the whole dash to replace a $20 part.

Three positives: Didn't buy anything I wasn't originally planning on bidding on, came home with as much money as I left with, and had a great time people watching/listening.

We picked up Simon, our new chocolate lab puppy, last night. Holy good lord, forgot about the baby/puppy midnight wakings

He is doing great and already knows his name when called. This will be a fun winter adventure of puppyhood!

Cleaned up the yard up north. Put the bagger on the old Snapper, drove around and sucked up leaves, acorns, sticks, you name it.

Halfway through it started snowing on me. Not the first time it's happened, won't be the last.

Best thing about riding around on a mower when it's 37 degrees is the beer doesn't get warm. :)

He's a real cutie (aren't all puppies?). Last couple of dogs I had I rescued as young adults so they could hold it all night (until they got old of course). Come to think of it, I've had more rescues of adults than raising them from puppies (5 adults, to 3 puppies). Of course one of those adults wasn't house trained yet. Funny thing was she would wake me up / let me know when a puppy we had needed out (not related, but she acted like his mother), but not for herself. Eventually she got the hang of it though and was a really good dog.

Anyway, hope the potty training goes smoothly and quickly so your nights aren't disrupted for long.

No snow yet, but have had a couple of sessions of sleet/freezing rain this afternoon so when there was a break I decided to take pity on the citrus tree and bring it inside. Amazingly it still has more leaves than the native trees - although it is looking a bit stressed.

Since the other 2 projects I tried to work on went to sh*t in a hurry, I might as well join in and crack open the vodka :smoke:. Hmm, come to think of it, that is probably why the projects went south :D
