We like compliments. But we also can feel personal shame / humility when we get them.
Because no matter what we did, we could have done better. So we say "Thanks", but we scowl at ourselves.
"Next time I do this, I'll......." it's a guy thing.

Tomorrow- preparing my stacking area for some prime, seasoned Ash from Nebraska.
My Dads neighbor has been adamant about bringing me wood this summer. Sooo... they're showing up tomorrow with a truck and trailer of Ash.
Dad is 80, neighbor is 86-or-so. I'll dam near have to hog-tie them, to prevent them from helping stack. Sorry, you can't drive from Neb. to 8200' and think you're gonna work like you do back home!
I have a D tank of medical grade oxygen, regulator, and cannulas on hand for when they pass out. Not if- when.
    Stubborn ol' bastidges......

I have a plan. Large pile of hollow-core cottonwood rounds need to be split. I'll tow the splitter to the pile, let them work on that while I stack the Ash.
This will keep them busy, and low impact-(rounds are light as heck, just big bark rings for the most part). We'll see what happens....

2 batches of homebrew in the books, a Dogfish Head Indian Brown clone and an Oatmeal stout. Should be ready by early December.
