can anyone tell who made this for sears,it was given to me and is in great shape i cleaned the filter and plug put in fresh gas and it started right up ,it has no brake just a guard ,anyone know when brakes became standard ? the other thing i have never seen before is the the chain is tensioned by a slot in the bar, this could be a good loaner saw ( im sure i can get chains but the bar may be impossible to find if one was ever needed ,maybe i should use it myself and switch brands:D. Yup, that saw is a re-branded Poulan.
The bar is a re-branded Oregon Intenz bar I believe.

Yep Warped5 has it right on both the saw and the bar.

All 358.XXXXX items were made by Poulan for Sears. I think I have a spare bar for that saw.

I have a 5 year old Poulan PP4218 AV that has the same type of bar tensioner. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be too hard to find, as they still come with that bar new.
